Default How could I incorp. The FIRM into my program?

Hi, so I have a few of the FIRM dvd's in the house, along with the step thing they market. How would I go about incorporating these since they also use weights? I'm afraid it would interfere with my rest days, and yet, not be heavy enough weights to use as a replacement to my lifting days. This has perplexed me since I started lifting - should I just use really light weights that wouldn't tax me - like my 2 or 3 lb'ers?

When I do my Firm workouts, I lift heavy and then count that in as my weight lifting. You could certainly do light weights and count it as purely aerobic. I was doing my Firm workouts for weights for quite a while and now I've switched to dedicated weights.

I was wondering the same thing, how to do both as I'm on a program 3 days a week on full body weight training. I want to work my legs more but it would be overtraining if I pushed them too hard on other days too? A lot of the dvd's I like have squats and weights too - I like the bootcamp dvds with weights in particular, the firm ones are too long for me although I have some. I'm also wondering the same about the health club, I'm doing my weights at home, some days I go to the club mostly for cardio while my boy plays. Just wondering if I can also add some machines for my legs or would it have to be the same days as my weight training? I just got the Get Ripped dvd by Geri Love that some here said they do. Maybe that's how it has to be then, do the dvd's in exchange for certain days of weights if the dvd's are full body as my weight program. Or choose the light aerobic dvds - that aren't so intense and just lift smaller hand weights for endurance... sorry to butt in but I'm figuring out what you are.

I really like the cardio one with Allie Del Rio. I think the Ab Sculpt with Lisa Kay is way too easy, but good for days when I'm feeling more lethargic and not up for a long workout. I also like that they say when to use lighter or heavier weights (although I use 10, 12, & 15 instead of 3, 5, & 8).

I love Allie Del Rio, I'd love to have a body like hers although that is a dream

I forgot to say that there are some FIRM videos I have that are very weight training oriented and others are more cardio oriented. If you have the more cardio oriented ones, those would be easier to mix in. I did one of the more weight training oriented ones yesterday and I'm a little sore from it today.

I'm am not an expert, but I do cardio and weights (jari love) mon, wed, and fri. On those days if the cardio has a toning segment I use heavier weights. On the other days if I do any toning I only use 5lbs weights or my own body weight. Wondering what others do

horsey-curious what you'll think of Jari, I love her. Which one are you starting with?

I use my firm tapes as a kick in the butt when needed.

I also have the tape with allie and also the other woman with the texas? accent. It is good motivation...do this and you will look like that. also nice to have someone saying "lift now" when you are tired.

The cueing for lighter and heavier weights messes me up though since I can lift much heavier on some things than others. I wind up rewinding alot.

Before I found 3FC, I was a member of the Firm Believers Club which is their pay site that you get a free 90 day pass to when you buy from their infomercials. It was a really cool site a few years ago, and people were planning little side trips to the actual Firm gym in Columbia, SC. I'd like to do that some day and take a class. Maybe a bunch of us 3fchicks could do that!
