Hubs - This is just a guess (I do ER, not OR) but my guess would be that it's because the scar tissue isn't vascular like regular tissue and therefore is more prone to infection? Not sure, but good luck with your consult in any case!

Yes. Exactly. I've had three lateral incisions as I mentioned earlier, and gall bladder incision that is more than 8 inches in the upper right quadrant cause I had it done before the days of lap. I'm a mess lol. Last but not least was a major hernia repair. And I was terribly infected and had to be reopened several times to bust up the honeycombed pockets so the vascularity of my entire belly is compromised. I'm actually more than a little concerned.

But, I'm also so, so very tired of this skin hanging halfway down to my knees. Ok, maybe not quite that low but you get the picture! My belly is WAY larger than my rear end and that's just not right.

I see my family doctor tomorrow and she's going to request that the surgeon prioritize my case so I get in sooner. Like not having to wait another whole year because of wait lists.
