Cool It was my PAIN MEDS!!!

We finally found the problem causing my 24/7 nausea. Thursday I met with my pain management doctor and we discussed all the trouble I have been having. Also discussed with my surgeon as well as the assisting surgeon.

ALL my tests, CT, Nuclear scan, blood etc came back normal, including my Gall bladder. Then we discussed my chronic main meds. Oxycontin. I have taken it for five years with no trouble at all. We realized the nausea started when I went home from the hospital both times.

What was different? I went from Morphine in the hospital back to my Oxy at home. Nausea starts... DUH!!! Thursday I swithed from Oxy to Morphine and by Friday the nausea was almost gone. On Saturday I felt FINE!!! Today I had a bad bout at the grocery store then realized I had only had a lemonade smoothie all day and it was 2:00pm. another DUH!!!

So, here I sit on Sunday night frrling fantastic. No nausea at all and wondering how many thousands of dollars we spent on elaberate tests. Oh well, at least I know all my inards look good.

And... now that I won;t collapse after 20 feet, my poor dog has to start taking me for walks again. He has NO IDEA how tired he will be.

Oh, I'm so happy that you figured out what it was. I'm surprised they didn't think of that first. I'm so so glad that you are feeling better now.

Smile Thanks guys

Monica,

We did discuss my meds and even talked to my pain management doc about them. It turns out the problem wasn't from the actual pain medicine but from the "stuff" it is mixed with to enable it to be time released.

The new medication uses a different "suspension" material and is working great. Whodda thunk it???
