Hi Pooks,
I was just thinking about you last night. I'm so glad you posted, because otherwise you'd be getting a barrage of PM's from me until I'd heard from you!

So, are you doing the RNY now or getting banded? I've never been sure which one it ended up to be. Sounds like the bypass from the amount of time on the table and the rehab, but I'm just guessing.

I'm sure you'll be just fine, but I'm glad you're doing the rehab place. My mom went to one after her knee replacement surgery and was really glad she did. Hopefully you have no complications and I know you'll be a smaller Pookie in no time. I'm amazed at how much you've lost on your own. It's truly inspiring.

I hope you sister is doing okay now. She needs to be able to take care of you! Tell her I said it's her turn to be the caretaker. And also tell her that we insist that she get over her internet phobia long enough to let us all know how you do after surgery. She has 4 weeks to learn to post a reply. We won't take no for an answer! Right Jif?

Congrats on completing those tests. Hopefully you're just about done. If you have to do the Arterial Blood gas, just grin and bear it. It's over pretty quick.

That's it for now,
Chickadee

It doesn't matter WHY you lost those 60 pounds -- what matters is YOU DID IT! That's not easy and we're all proud of the world's one and only Gym Hamster!

Thinking of you, Pooks, and I know everything's going to turn out beautifully for you.

Hi Meg, Hi all....

I'm doing ok, thanks for asking, still in some pain. I had my 1st check up with the surgeon today and I lost 13 lbs, and he is pleased with my progress. I have to go back in 3 weeks to see him again. They said I need to eat more protein than I am. LOL, never thought I'd have to be told to eat more! I need to find a new shake, starting to really dislike the Isopure....

P-38--hang in there, I'm sorry you are going thru so much.

Pookie are they fixing your hernia at the same time? Do they do that?

Hi Pookie--I did the same thing, was trying to go thru all my stuff making everything neat, giving everything a place that needed it. I was so afraid of the possibility of dying that I didn't want anyone to think I was a slob or anything, lol. Pretty morbid, huh? But it definitely was nice to come home to a clean house, especially since you won't be able to clean/bend for a while!

Pookie. I'm out of town and haven't been on the internet since Monday night. I will be thinking about you and your surgery, I know you will do great. How 'bout I give your sister my toll free phone number, she calls me and I can report in on you when your surgery is done. PM ,me and I'll give you the number!

Default Misty -- Protein Drinks

Misty -- when I was looking through a bodybuilding magazine tonight, I saw an ad for something called Whey Fruity -- high protein, no carbs, and sweetened with Splenda. The nutrition info per scoop is 105 calories, 26g protein, 0g carbs, 0g fat. The ad says: "Whey Fruity tastes exactly like a delicious fruit-flavored kid's drink" so I thought maybe it might be a bit of a change for you from the Isopure? It sounds like Kool-Aid. I don't know if you've tried it -- I haven't -- but they're offering free samples if you call 1-888-828-8008. This is their web site: http://www.molecularnutrition.net/whey_fruity.htm

If anyone tries it, I'd be interested in a review.

While we're on the topic of protein, I made batch of Mel's protein banana nut muffins tonight and they're awesome! Only 120 calories each, with 12g of protein and 12g carbs per muffin, no added sugar. If anyone's interested, I'm sure that Mel wouldn't mind me posting her recipe.

first things first, pookie. your caution about revealing your real name is RIGHT ON TARGET!!! Don't do it...

as for the rest of it, i'm so glad that you have the contact thing worked out... i'm getting nervous for you.. so how about if you let US do the worrying so that you can just relax and focus on getting well.

how about it folks? we'll take on all of pookie's worrying...

Okay, I'm on board to worry too. You can just stop worrying now Pooks, because I have a feeling between Jif and me, we can take on more worry than you could ever need!

And Jiffypoo - I had to read lawn guyland a coupla times to figure out what the heck you were talking about. You just cracked me up! Tell you good for nuttin' sista I miss her, will you please?

The Chick
