Default In th Same Boat???

Jiffypop,

I read your post and was really interested as to what you have been experiencing. I had my WLS surgery in October 2003. I have lost a total of 65 lbs so far bringing my weight to 205lbs. Okay that doesn't sound too bad BUT I haven't lost any weight for nearly two months and I have been following a regular exercise schedule (going to the gym) since the beginning of February.
Yes, exercising and loosing the 65 lbs. has made me feel better and I thank God for this. However I am a little discouraged. When they retook my measurements recently (at the gym) I had actually gained inches in some places
I know that I have insulin resistance. The surgeon who did my WLS predicted that I my have a problem losing more than 80 lbs but I didn't believe him and besides 80 lbs would be better than nothing at all
So I am going to take you info and see if I can make some chages in my eating plan.
Sorry this was a little lengthy.....I needed to vent and possibly get some advice
Thanks

kathy... where have you been hiding????? glad you came out from lurkdom.. and i hope you're not gone this long again!!!!!

i feel for you. i don't know what to say. what kind of exercise program are you on? maybe meg can help out with some wisdom on that.

and what are you eating these days? at about 7-8 months out, weight loss generally slows, but it shouldn't be stopping, even with the insulin resistance. but that varies from person to person.

soooo vent away!!!!! tell us what's going on. start up a thread if you want to, and i'll sticky it so it's stay at the top of the forum. let us know what we can do...

it's now been 4 days, and it's getting easier, although eating at night is still an effort the bloat in the middle is decreasing, and i've lost a pound this week. yippeee yahoooo!!!! but frankly, i'd be ecstatic to be stable. and in seventh heaven to lose this last 20-25. <am i repeating myself too much???>

but what's really been strange is that i have so many choices to make and i'd gotten used to a much simpler approach!! oh well. one step at a time. and there's always chocolate.. but for right this second, i'm trying to figure out how i can have some mango AND the chocolate tonight. oh well. maybe the mango will win. we'll see.
