  • Gosh L, I am green with envy!!!! Did you get a tan? I remember playing kick the can...loved that...I didn't learn 4 square until my oldest taught me!

Kel, you are sweet....the big kid came in third in the states. Pretty darn good. He has placed every year for 4 years. This is the first year I can't pin him. (unless I tell him I won't feed him!)

  • Yes, yes i did get a tan and I still have it! I have to have the kids with me or people think I have been to the tanning booth...

  • L I don't want to hear the dirty word tan!
I spent half the summer last yeat trying to get a tan! A whole month at the tanning salon, every lotion, potion and trick sold on the internet and all I ever got was burnt or orange, or streaked! And to think someone got it the old fashioned Way!

Peachie: Will this count to post on Jiff's exercise thread?
  • yep!!!! it counts.. it's movement that doesn't involve food.
  • Hi everybody, I haven't been around in quite some time. I think of you when I scroll past the WLS section. I was and still to this day think about WLS. But I am so afraid that I am just not healthy enough and then on top of that they started layoffs at the bank and I don't think its the time to go on disability. So I've been trying and trying and still up 2, down 1, down 2, up 3, I can't stand how slow the progress is and health wise I need to drop at least 50 of the 110 I need to lose pretty fast. Have any of you experienced Medifast. I had tried it over 16yrs ago and it was working well until a lump showed up on my thyroid that required surgery and that sidetracked me for a couple of months and I never went back. Now it worked well, but a 28 everything worked well. At 44, the only thing that gets it off fast is a chainsaw. Don't think I can handle that either. I figure no matter how you drop weight its still a battle to keep it off and I would love a jump on reaching my goal. I think I still remember what my goal looks like if I look hard and deep, very deep.
By the way, How are all the gals? Jiffy,Peach, Barb and all. I have to come visit more often. It seemed like it was getting a little quiet around here. Well thanks for listening.

I really appreciate your responding. I can always count on this board for so many things. I know these plans are designed for quick weight loss. Here is my issue. Because of the weight I am having joint and muscle pain which makes it hard to exercise, but I do exercise. I also have diabetes, HBP and high chol. to add to that. I am also on a thyroid supplement since 1/2 was removed. The excessive weight on my abdoman contributes to my acid reflux and from the ongoing diabetes the nerves in my stomach that aid in digestion are failing to work properly and now I am on reglan for that. My mother went thru these same issues and was dead by 49. I am 44 and don't want to leave yet. I quit smoking over a yr ago and it's the only positive thing that's happened health wise. So I would like to get a big portion of the weight off and hopefully reduce my meds. (mom was up to 11 pills a day when she died, I take 13!) I have to change my way of eating completely but I thought it might be easier if I could get off the bulk and feel better and battle the rest. I know it's probably not the best way but right now I see no light at the end of the tunnel. I am afraid of what's at the end of the tunnel. I see your in NY. I am in Westchester Co about 30 mins outside NYC. Do you see a doctor around here? I am going on line to see if I can find more info. Again, thank you.
