Well, I guess I've gotten the ball rolling...
First, I called my doctor's office today to talk to her about weight loss surgery. I have the kind of insurance where you have to get referrals, so this is the first step of what I am assuming will be a lengthy process.
Also, my husband called our insurance company for me today and asked if they cover this kind of thing, and they do!! They told him that they only cover it if your BMI is over 30%. Well, mine is waaaaaaaaaay over that. I was kind of stressing about that issue. There is NO WAY that we could have afforded it if insurance wouldn't cover it, and I would hate to get as far as gathering all the info and deciding that yes, it is the best decision for me, and then not be able to do it because of $$.
So, wish me luck!
By the way, I'm new to this site, and I'm still working my way through previous threads, so this may have been covered before, but if anyone has any suggestions about the questions that I should be asking my doctor next week, please pass them along to me! This appointment is just with my GP, so it's not like she would be the one doing the procedure or anything, but like I said, it's the first step!
