Oh, I felt awful AS I was eating it...and then for the rest of the night.

Got the call. My surgery is way sooner than I ever would have anticipated. September 15th. Time to breathe.....

what a surprise! and congratulations! and just think - you'll be all healed in time for snow shoveling in Indiana!!! I know - you were worried about that LOL!

so, let's get back to the cupcake - you felt bad. as in sick to your stomach because it was too sweet? or O M G why am i eating this? or good grief, this doesn't taste nearly as good as i thought it would. or - even worse - I WANT 6 MORE!!!!!

It's time to start looking at these things - really and truly. time to think about why you eat, why you eat WHAT you eat, and then, of course, HOW do you eat it. [fast, slow, big bites, small bites, whatever].

There are just sooooo many details about getting food, preparing it, eating it, dealing with it - IT'S HARD!!!!!!!

Jiffypop - I knew it was the wrong choice as I was eating it....but did it anyway, out of hunger. Even though I knew it would not satisfy me. The local WLS support group meets once a month, and I'll be attending my first meeting in about a week and a half. I hope that along with this board, their input, and possibly seeing a therapist, I can work through my food issues/learn coping techniques.

Leftoverqueen & Diyana - Thank you ladies! So very nervous. But ready for my life to begin!

Jiffy has it going on! All the questions about the cupcake......excellent. You will learn to write these questions down on a note card (I have to) and read them or recite them to yourself as you deal with your relationship with food.

I have started keeping a journal so I can visually read how my journey changes.

ooooh!!!! i hope you share some of your journal revelations! I'm just sharing my experiences with everyone. I'm OLLLLDDDDD!!!! and i HAD TO [and HAVE to] make this work or i will be bedridden again. And all these detailed Qs are EXACTLY what I had to go through at the beginning, and STILL have to go through.

the stakes are high, everyone. Maybe not for you right now, but perhaps later. And i want each and every one of you to have healthy, happy, long lives.

Good luck on your upcoming WLS and as for the Vit D, with a prescription it should come up nicely. I tested at a 7 and all I took was over the counter Vit D and it came right up within a month or so.

Stay calm and you're on your way
