and I did bring some of my own food. I'm going to stipulate next time I go there I'm buying all the food and doing the cooking and if they don't like it too bad!
I did come to a good realization. . .I'm not responsible for her happiness. . .It's not my job!
Oh and AC Moore was having a yarn sale!! so I got some fun fur (which ofcourse I left up there but I'm picking it up next weekend) so I made a scarf for me and one for my sis and I'm making a belt for me
I brought her up WATP and as soon as my swelling goes down I'm goign to do it myself today
I'm off to quaff some water It's good to be back in the land of the Healthy!

Default Yarn!!!

I love yarn. I'm making a big old long warm shawl and it is taking me forever. It is all garter stitch and so boring!! But can't wait to snuggle down with it. I found a pink one at a resale shop and it is very pretty, but too holey and airy to keep me warm. Had to wear gloves in church sunday, because my dang fingers were dead.

What kind of belt are you making? Do you ever watch Knitty Gritty on HGTV?
We have lost our pattern for one skein slippers, so my mom had had me make four different slippers to see if it is the one we are looking for. None of them it so far. Now my job is to set down and make four matching slippers. I didn't use double thread on the bottom because they are suppose to just be sample slippers and I'm kicking myself for it now.

My mother is blind in one eye and has lost 50% of the sight in the other eye and someone gave her a camping trailer full of yarn and she won't share!!! She has been trying to do afaghans on larger needles, just garter st. by the feel. They are not perfect, but she is keeping busy.

My kids are harping at me to make some more of the knitted dishrags. I gave them some for Christmas a few years ago and they thought it was a dumb gift, but realized how good they are. I keep trying to get my kids to learn to knit and crochet, but no deal. I'm so happy when I hear that a young person knows how to knit. We have a young group of girls at church, I'd say between the ages of 14 to 22 that get together every once in a while and work on their knitting. They are all now learning to use the Kniffty Knitter looms. I've been seeing some really colorful and beautiful knitted hats.

I just have to say, this is the best sentence I will hear/read all day.
I love it.

Default Hips??? Waist????

What are hips and what is a waist?! You lucky girl! I have such a paunch that my belt ends up somewhere under my boobies!! I learn to knit on my own, and when I was making a sweater and my grandmother was helping me with a special stitch, she just happened to mention to me that I did my knits and purls wrong. My knits were purls and my purls were knits. Don't ask me why I never picked up on it!!! My grandma gave me a sweater just before she died and it has a cable that runs down the middle of the arms and down the middle of each front. I'm in the process of finding me some neutral colored yarn because I can actually wear this sweater now and I found the pattern in an old book. I'll bet she made that sweater in just about every color imaginable.

I sure wish that they were be able to do something more proactive about fibro. I do think that the Omegas helps some. I went to the Amish store today for cheese and found a corn chip with whole flaxseed baked in them. They are the weirdest looking things and hoping my grandchildren will just love them. I try not to think about fibro very often, and they wanted to pursue my "aches and pains" more, but said NO! Dealing with too much other stuff right now. Everyone in my family and some of my nieces suffer terribly from it. Does the lyrica help you? Are there any side affects from the med? I do have Raynaud's and they are wanting to put me on Procardia XL to help with the circulation to my hands. I have cracks on every one of my fingers and they seem to think the med might help me out. I haven't started it yet because it can make my BP go down and cause tiredness and I just don't have the time for that right now. It has been tough trying to knit or crochet with all these dang splits. Only nice thing about them are that my DH has been doing the dishes to help keep me from bumping them so bad. YAHOO!!!

Default AC Moore!

I miss AC Moore so much. All we have in AZ is Michaels and JoAnn-they don't come close to AC Moore!

You lucky Jersey ladies.

I've been working on a shawl with yarn I got on clearance at Walmart. I've been hankering to start crocheting an afghan to replace the worn out one we've been using for 25 years!
