aw shucks girls. here's the update - so far. it's affected her left side - left side of face is sagging, and there's weakness and decreased sensation in her left arm and hand, but she can move them. the left leg doesn't seem to be moving very much, so that's a concern. it's been impossible to get an accurate neuro exam because (1) the alzheimer's and (2) the ativan that they had her on so they could get an MRI. they'll have to wait until that wears off [and she then becomes unmanageable!] in order to evaluate her properly.
physical therapy, speech, and occupational therapy have all seen her, and are making plans for her. the social worker is coordinating the placement into the 'rehab' center that we'd chosen for her nursing home care ANYWAY. we'd decided that the time had come to place her because of the alzheimer's and this event actually makes it easier.
that's all i know right now. i'm tired. the dog is SOOOOOO sad - sleeping on mom'sside of the bed, on the pillow. the cat is upset, and seems to have devoted herself to taking care of the dog.
i've stopped eating, mostly because of the antibiotic for my sinuses, but that's just as well!!! i feel like my system has returned to like 6 months post-op and i've re-set my dump-o-meter.
all is as well as it can be. and thank you all!!!!!
