I'll tell you what I miss with a passion!! My COFFEE!! Oh, how I loved it...LOL!! But it was really, really a problem. I would easily drink 2 pots a day...yes, that's right 2 10-cup pots of coffee a day. I would just drink it black with no sugar and loaded with caffeine.
Why did I give up the coffee. Because I know that having that much coffee a day really is not good for me. After surgery I'll have to concentrate on getting in liquids that hydrate me and I'll have to lay off the coffee for a bit.
I figured if I went cold turkey ( I did that two weeks ago) and just did it now it would be better then waiting after the surgery. I didn't want to battle the headaches after surgery that I knew I would endure from my addiction to caffeine. So, cold turkey it was and I have not had a drop of the bean juice in two weeks.
Now, will I ever drink coffee again?? You bet your boots I will. I just have to learn that one mug a day is what I can and will have an no, the mug will not be the size of the Grand Canyon...LOL!!
Yes, I'm a coffee freak, too - esp. Starbucks frappucino, LOL! That's going to be a hard one to sacrifice although I do drink the cold canned (lower-fat ones) that you can buy by the 4-case at WalMart. For some weird reason I don't tolerate teabag hot tea well - it makes me feel weird, although iced tea is no problem. But, someone told me it's best not to drink cold liquids b/c it makes your tummy contract or something. So, h'mmm - what's a girl to do?? Carol
