Default How Many Little Containers?!?!

How many little containers do you have in your refrigerator or cupboard right now that has little bits of leftovers that could be used as another meal? I'm going crazy with my refrigerator being full of them. I think that I have them all cleaned up and whammy overnight they have multiplied and are over running the darn thing again. My DH like to help me do dishes so we can spend time together at night and talk, but when I say I'm gonna have to clean out some of those little containers, I swear he disappears like lightning. I even found little vaccum packed bags in the freezer that could be used as a meal. They say that some people get other addictions after WLS. Well, I hope to heck mine aren't those hundreds of little lock and lock containers that seem to be taking over my kitchen! LOL!!! My DH has decided that I'm a keeper. He took me to Wendy's last night for supper and mine cost $1.49, a small bowl of chili with cheese (I didn't have a little container so had to throw the rest of the chili away!).

I finally got my Dr. to prescribe a one-a-day prenatal vitamin that is on the Walmart $4.00 list. I thought about the Centrum, but with having to take two to three a day would have cost me more than $4.00 a month. Only difference that I can see in the one originally prescribe is a little more of the B vitamins and it had a stool softener. The new one has more iron so....that stool softener might be looking pretty good to me in about a week~LOL!

Hope you are all having a good day. I have been moving to lose today. Had to shovel snow!!!! It was tough, but I can do it so much easier than the past few years....like not at all!!!

Nanj I don't have many lil containers but I sure do have a lot of to go boxes as my DH seems to collect them and never eat them.

LOL!!!!! NANCY!!!!! they're all over my fridge!!! but i gotta tell you that if i don't eat it fairly quickly, it gets thrown out. there's just something about food that's been in the fridge a couple of days that just doesn't sit right with me.

so having said that, whenever i go out to eat, i ask myself 'how many more meals of this can you stand? how will it re-heat?' and take that into consideration when i'm ordering. and i also figure out how to make 'new meals' out of it.

a favorite: getting chicken fingers, the good home-made ones. i eat one or two at the restaurant, and then take the rest home. here's the 'next meal:' take a romaine lettuce leaf, add a little tomato, cucumber, shredded carrot, pepper -whatever raw veggies you like. then add a chicken finger, and roll the whole thing up!! YUMMYY!!!

Well, you hit my tickle bone. I just cleaned out my refrigerator this morning and put all those little containers in the dishwasher. Filled up the whole top rack with just plastic!! I even had to open some to see what it was. I try to use things up in a couple of days, otherwise I throw them out, unless they get scooted to the back and lost. Thats when I make my own penicillin. LOL.
I went out to eat at a Mexican Food place this week. Asked if I could purchase a child's plate ($2.99) for one cheese enchilada, refried beans and rice. I left the rice (my niece at that) and ate all my refried beans and a bite or two of the cheese enchilada. Oh, I got a toy too! Anyway, it didn't bother me and I was pleased to know I could go some place and eat like everyone else, sort of.

Default Children's meals!

I haven't pulled out my little card that my clinic gave me asking the restaurant to please let me buy a child's meal, but I'm going to the next time my whole darn family insists on eating at a buffet. What a waste of money for me! And I don't even get a toy!

I'm now carrying little containers in my purse with light salad dressings, trail mix and cheese cubes just in case I have a need!! LOL!! I guess I too will be making my own penicillin in my purse. I guess I never realized just how many places don't carry anything that is SF. When I go with people, I don't want them to have to cater to me so just get plain stuff and add my own stuff. I'm missing chia tea. I stopped at Starbucks and asked them if they had SF Chia tea that could be made with skimmed milk. She didn't say anything for a moment and then said "NO". I said thank you and started to drive off and she yelled so you don't want to order anything! I yelled "Do you have anything for tea that is SF and she said no. So I said than I don't want to order anything. I'm gonna have to do some investigating on how to make my chia tea that taste good and not splenda loaded. That stuff makes me gag. I switched to stevia and am on a learning curve with it, but think that it is better than Splenda.

pssst. nancy - ask your starbucks if they have the teabag chai. it's the TAZO brand, and most of them carry it.

here's the deal - ask them to make you TEA BAG CHAI and add a little bit of steamed milk. VOILA!!!! that whole chai mystique with the sugar and the froth and whatever else they put in it is gross.

but, with the tea bag chai, you're getting black tea steeped with spices [still 0 calories!] plus however much milk you want - skim or regular, and whatever sweetener you may or may not put in there.
