My sister told my Mom that I eat late at night--I used to do this before South Beach. I went to see my therapist and she said it was jealousy on my sister's part because I looked like I had lost weight. She also said secrecy is an issue in my family--sexual abuse by our father. She said if my sister was really concerned, she'd had confronted me. Ain't that the truth.
I'm determined to lose weight so I can live a long life. When I accomplish my goal, we'll see who Mother Dearest will be fawning over.

Hmmm, well Phantastica - we weren't measuring hips to compare. She bought a skirt and my mom asked her why she didn't buy a smaller size and she said that her hips are [number] so they recommended the size she got. I did the mental calculations. You know what, it's weird. Somedays I don't care whether she surpasses me or not because I WANT her to feel good about herself and stuff but other days I think "I don't want to let go of my smaller sibling status!" To each his [her] own. I plan on being healthy the rest of my life. The weight HAS to come off so what if it's a few months after my sis reaches her goal weight? The one good thing about my sister's weight loss is that she doesn't WHINE to the skies when we go shopping now. Whew!

I had the unfortunate experience of having another longtime friend get funny about my weight loss. When I was fatter than her, she was full of compliments. Now all she can muster is criticisms of me ... I should cut my hair, a new cut would make me look younger and less fat. Of all the photos I've used for avatar pics, she likes this one the least. Whatever ... it's sad to think that two of my closest friends, both of whom have weight issues, are turning out to be so unsupportive of this type of success in my life.
