Sounds like you are doing a lot of things right! I realize now I'll have to lower my fat intake. I'm doing fine on total calories, but the fat grams add up so quickly! I'm currently around 30-35% fat and would like to lower it to around 20%. It seems that I'm really not eating that much fat as I don't eat fried foods, etc., but my Nutridiary doesn't lie!! That's going to be my new strategy to start losing more consistently. Thanks for the tip!

I don't mind the fish oil, but if you end up going that route, do your research. Don't take just any old fish oil out there. There are websites you can do a search for to compare brand names and quality. The purified fish oils are better.

My high triglycerides were a big concern of mine and I went out on the web and found some message boards about cholesterol issues and several people from those boards said they lowered their trigs by taking fish oil. I was like well, it can't hurt, it's supposedly good for the heart and all that anyway, so I started taking the stuff every day. Again, I don't know if it was the fish oil alone that lowered them so dramatically, but something sure did it. Trigs as high as mine were - well, put it this way, that was outrageous. Over 800. 840, to be exact. So at that point, especially since I denied taking the cholesterol-lowering drugs, I was ready to try anything.

You know, it's funny, most days I don't even bother looking at my fat percentages because I already know they're going to be low. I don't struggle to eat that low in fat, that's just the way it turns out, it's simply the way I eat now. To see my fat percentages, I have to go back and check out my fitday logs because it doesn't really register in my head. The main thing I keep an eye on is my calorie count.

I've just become so accustomed to avoiding all things 'fat' that it's not a daily concern for me anymore.

I'm hoping to get to that point someday - when I don't have to obsess over the details! I think I'm eating low fat but at the end of the day I see just how many grams have added up. I'll just have to pay closer attention to the fat content in my food.

I've had the most success with keeping a daily calorie log than any other kind of weight control method I've tried (and believe me, I've tried them all!)

You and me both. In fact, dieting is how I got fat.
