There are many advantages to using a treadmill, though. It is lower impact than running outside BECAUSE you don't have to propel your body forward. You have total control over the incline and speed. You can use it in any kind of weather. The "terrain" is constant and smooth, so you can keep a steadier, more even pace. You can run "hills" without the jarring that comes with running back down the hill.

All very good reasons why I love the treadmill. I have control over how fast, how long, how steep, the temperature, the time of day (anytime is fair game at home), ....
I would like to begin jogging outside every now and then. But I know that when I do, I will still rely on the mill for most of my workouts. It is reliable and affords me NO excuses. ummm. that is unless we have a power outage.
