Default 9 pounds in one week? What's up with my weight?!!!

Okay, I changed my eating this week. I stopped eating processed things and started eating everything natural. Egg whites, english muffin and some fat free cheese for breakfast. Fruit and veggies, string cheese, yogurt for snacks. Salad with tuna or a wrap for lunch and then a correctly portioned dinner. And I've been drinking TONS of water!
At the beginning of the week, I weighed 166 pounds. Today, Friday, I wegh 157!! I know that there is nothing wrong with my scale because my DH always weighs the same when he weighs himself. How is it possible to lose NINE pounds in one week? My clothes are getting loser and I can't afford to buy new ones!! What is happening to me?!!

It can happen, I guess... When was it? I dunno... last week or the week before I lost 7 pounds in one week. I wasn't doing anything different or eating especially well, but it just poofed! Bodies are weird and wonderful things...

I'm not sure how it's happening but I bought groceries last night and I purchased some similar foods that you mentioned. I hope they work as well for me!!

Well, the exact opposite happened to my husband yesterday...he weighed himself Weds night and he was 232, he weighed himself Thursday night after mowing the lawn (thinking all that yard work would surely have knocked off a pound or two) and he was 239! IMPOSSIBLE! But, like you---we know the scale is correct. I am sure he would rather be in the same boat that you are in. LOL

Its probably water weight. Eating processed foods and all that store bought stuff has A LOT of hidden salt and preservatives. By changing that you have allowed you body to get rid of what it does not need...

CHEERS!!!!

I agree with Fitgal - it's probably a little fat and a whole lot of water. In addition to all the sodium in Lean Cuisines and other processed food, I recall that you were having a few carb-y food lapses, like hash browns. Since every gram of carbs holds onto 3-4 grams of water, when you reduce carbs ... voila! you drop a lot of water. It's the oldest diet trick in the books.

It's a nice problem to have.

I was just totally flabbergasted when I stepped on the scale today. See, my goal weight was 170 and I hit that this past September. I got down to 160 and maintained for a while. But then I got a little lax in my eating and I gained about 4-6 pounds. So, that's why I committed to this new eating. I just didn't expect results like this and was a little concerned!!

Oh my goodness, maybe that's what I've been doing wrong!!! I here everybody saying how they eat "clean" - maybe I've been eating too many processed foods. I am going to try it!

Meg has motivated a lot of us to do good things for ourselves ... eat less, eat clean, lift weights ... She is truly a blessing to me.

none of that works for me... I don't eat a lot of processed foods (I dont think?) - and I drink 3-4 liters of water I day, eat lots of veggies and fruit, watch my carbs (I eat whole wheat bread, and maybe have a white begal or two a week) and my body just is like I DONT WANNA LOSE WEIGHT! and then I am like... well you get the point! hah
