sotypical -- I've been seeing a lot of discussions about wheat bread recently, and I start to wonder, are you really eating WHOLE wheat bread? Or just wheat bread? Look at the ingredients, is the main one whole wheat flour or enriched wheat flour. How much fiber does it have? I've been surprised that the foods I thought were "whole wheat" really weren't.

wyllenn - I will have to check into that when I get home.

I have been eating this bread called 'squirly bead' and it is made with no flour and 85% organic. Just today I decided to switch to 100% whole wheat bead because it doesn't have all the nuts or whatnot in it and makes better toast. I will check both as soon as I get home and post the results. What am I looking for to know that it is "good" for me?

Squirrely bread is good for you.
If I recall, it's made with sprouted grains...and oh, so tasty...but really expensive here

Squirrely bread is made from organic whole grain sprouted wheat or something. I live on Vancouver Island also and I get it from Costco - 2 loaves for about $5 or $6.

Hey, Courtnie

You're the first Islander I've met here!

There are a few from the mainland on my board (the 100 pound club).
It's really nice to see someone who lives so close.

I'm in Parksville

WOW
Just a tip. Buy clothes at a thrift store or off the clearance racks when losing weight. That way you won't be so sad to kiss them goodbye when your weight changes.

i just recently saw a segment on Today show on how to get "real" whole wheat products and you are exactly right! the first couple of ingredients must contain WHOLE grains, WHOLE wheat or along those lines!

boy did i start REALLY looking at ingredients after that!
