Lose it by July 4th -- 13 weeks
 
I think the best way to do this for me, would be to mark it by week. Today is April 4, and the goal is 13 weeks (counting by Tuesdays) from today. I am starting my weigh in today, at 214 lbs with a goal to be 199 by July 4th.

Does that sound good to everyone?

Sounds great to me!! My weigh in...I'm currently at 165, with a goal to be 155 by July 4. Hopefully I can lose a little more than that, but I wanted to set my goal to something that should be (at least in theory!!) very do-able.

sounds fine to me. I have already started my weight loss since setting my goal. I am already down one pound. I would like to claim two, but since it was a point 8, i'll just take one pound for now. I started at 173 so i am down to 172!!! what a great way to start off my new challenge!! :)

I like the once a week thread. Sounds awesome to me!!! :) Looking forward to being a big fat loser with all of you. :) :)

Girl, I am WITH you!! What's your strategy? So far I know the changes I need to make are to drink more water, eat more fruits and veggies and exercise, exercise , exercise !! I have a wedding in August I need to look good for

Sounds good to me! My starting weight is 228, and my goal weight for July 4th is 205. I my other goal is to excercise at least 4 times a week.

Ok I am already in this, I will weigh today I will post the update good or bad tomorrow.
My plan is to eat clean
walk
do not eat after 8:00pm

And
To look hot by July....
And
Get my tat when I lose 20lbs

I tell you...I wish i knew what to say. I just try to watch my portions. I was logging in my calories on fitday.com and working out more...than i was before i started watching what i eat. i can't honestly say i am eating more vegetables because i probably haven't had single vegetable in two weeks...no money for groceries. :( but i do eat an apple every day for my afternoon snack. and i have gotten so used to eating less, that i get full alot sooner than i used to.

just try to watch your portions, record everything you eat and how many calories there is, don't waste calories on what you drink....i don't even drink very many diet sodas anymore, just mostly water, and get plenty of excerisize. i try to walk every day at lunch at least one mile, and then i go to the gym 3 or 4 times a week for an hour.

don't worry, you'll do it. it just takes determination!! good luck. ;)

Lucky you! I am many many pounds away from feeling comfortable with a tattoo. I also want a nose ring but I'm saving that for skinny me too! :D

Once I started using fitday, it has made such a big difference. I love the goal manager, and the journal feature, and the food record, actually writing down all my calories is essential.

I just saw your thread and was hoping to join in. I would like to be down to 145 by July 4. That would be a loss of 17 pounds. I also have a challenge of 10 more lbs by June 1 going.

Okay I have lost 12 pounds already. yippy I am so proud of myself but I want a total of 20 pounds off by June 10 so I will say as of today another 20 pounds so a total of 30 by the 4th of July.

Well Im a 138 even now, dont think Im going to make that 10 by april 29th the pounds are just not coming off that fast anymore... I will however make it to 125 by the 4th thats 13 more too go...

Ok I am still at 217 but looking for a loss this week. I have not to good of a time the last two days my car got hit...I have not been about to walk so today I will say this

I will walk 2miles every day from now own
I will not eat after 7pm
I will eat clean
I will stay on track

This will be my goal till Sunday...I will make new goals on Monday...and every week till I lose 24lbs.....

Hi la3y

Thank you for your response on my thread. I posted previously on this board but was not sure how active it was. Anyway nice to meet you all.


My goal is to lose 10 lbs by June 1 and 17 by July 4-

I figured it out to 1.25 lbs per week to do it.
I will do light toning
and eat properly 3 meals and 2 snacks a day.
I will also be drinking 96 plus ounces of water a day.

I know we will do just as good as we did on our April1st goal.....We lost over 300lbs as a group and I know We can do this again....So Wake Up Ladies!!! Get your butts Up and Start Moveing!!!!!!!!!!

How long did it take for the group to lose over 300lbs? That is amazing.
I just did my toning I will do it again later. I can't do aerobics as I have an ankle on the mend but I can't wait til I can get back to that too.



I weigh in on Mondays when do you all weigh in ?

We all have different days that we weigh in. Just change your tracker. We started in eather Nov or Oct I am not sure about the date....

By the way you can call me Leigh.....the la3y is only for Yahoo....

Do you have a fitday acc if not www.fitday.com It is a free site and a good way to keep track of your cals...

Thanks I just joined there yesterday and love it. I can't believe how little calories I consume in a day. Yesterday it was 900.

You may want to bring that number up. If you keep your cals that may slow your weight loss down....I try to get 1200 to 1500 a day....I was keeping mine low and I could not lose anything. When I added some cals I lost 4lbs the first week.

Good Morning everyone! Ugh. I feel icky today. We splurged last night and went to a Seafood place for dinner. I had crab, coconut shrimp and a few fried shrimp. Ive been working my butt off so I deserve to have something yummy once a while. But now my tummy is really upset. UGH. Im SOOOO not used to eating fried foods, I guess thats good I feel icky lol. And to top that off, I cant sleep. I just lay in my bed allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll night. Its really starting to bug me. Ill get like 2-3 hours a night and when I get up and get my kids up, im grumpy and I hate being like that with them. I dont know what to do. Its been happening all week and its driving me nuts!!

purplecrush, i sure wish i knew what to tell you. i have that problem sometimes. i woke up at 5am this morning and could not go back to sleep.

well, i am sooo happy to report my goal is off and running. i could not believe it when i stepped on the scale and it said another half pound down. i won't change my ticker until this weekend when it is a whole pound and i've seen it two days in a row, but that is amazing. and before you ask, the only thing i think of that i am doing is adding some coffee to my morning. i don't normally like coffee, and it kind of makes me have to go to the bathroom...and not to pee...if you get my drift. maybe i am just cleaning out my intestines. hahaha. but hey, i'll take a weight loss any way i can get it...right???!!!! :)

anyways, this is so exciting for me because i have been losing just one pound a week up until this past two weeks when it is coming off 2 a week.!!! i think i can pass my goal if it keeps going like this!!! :) i hope so. i just hope to move down a size soon though. :(

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has mentioned getting a fitday account. What a great site! Even though I don't especially like keeping a food journal, it really helps me be more aware of portion sizes and how many calories I'm eating (1700 yesterday...I probably need to cut that down a bit).

Also...I wanted to say that I'm so happy to have found this challenge! It's really helping me get on track with my weight loss. Instead of talking about wanting to lose weight, I'm actually doing something about it now! Thanks!!

I had the same problem with eating to little about 1100 a day now Im up at 1400-1600 a day, and noticed the weight was starting to come off more quickly again. Now my only problem is fat intake 33% of my calories right now :faint: its supposed to be at like 20%.

Hmmm I guess I should opt for Lasagna for dinner instead of salad that will up my calories for sure. right now it is 2:30 and I have only had 500 calories. Maybe I need to up them or up them then go down again to see more weight loss.

yep that a plan....I was eating about 1100 and went up to 1300 and lost alot its nice to see the number on the scale go down again. I went for 3 mo before I got the hang of eating more. I only lost 1lbs in that time. So just try it for a week or two and see if it helps.

I'd love to join in! I have a wedding in August (and my bday too!!), and I'd love to look REALLY good for it!! I have a little more weight to lose than a lot of you though..

I also found since I upped my calories I am losing more weight. Brown rice is higher in calories and only has 2 grams of fat per 1 cup cooked!

Im hoping to make my final goal by the 4th I'll be seeing my brother in law thats off in the military and he hasnt seen me since I weighed 163, Im hoping he'll notice,, everyone else I know sees me everyday so they dont see as much of a change.

Hi Everyone!! I just joined this board today - but I've been working on losing since Oct last year (I started at 200).

Anyways, I have a mini goal of 15 lbs lost by the beginning of July - so when I saw your thread I thought, Yeaaah!!

I'm definitely losing the weight for ME, but it just so happens there is a special guy coming back to town in July... Of course, I want to knock his SOCKS OFF - and, more importantly, I want to extra degree of security and confidence that'll come with losing 15lbs... ;)

I'm using what I learned on the South Beach (3 months, Oct - Dec), and then counting calories... Trying to stay between 1200 and 1700 calories per day. Also, I do Spinning 3 x's a week.

Morning Leigh :) congrats on the drop even if it is not official yet.

I am going to peek at the scale today. I ate 1300 calories yesterday and included more calcium and 196 ounces of water. I 'm hoping to see a change. I am going away this weekend so eating right tomorrow may be a struggle. Wish me Luck!

I am new to this group. I have a total of 95 lbs. to loose. How much should I try to loose by July 4th. My 22nd anniversary is July 11th. So, I would like to look slimmer and feel better by than. Also, where do you find the weight scales. They are too cute!!
