What dont you miss from before your diet?

I decided friday night for dinner i would treat my self with a soda (i've been drinking water ONLY for the past 2 months) so i had a can of moutian dew, and after i finished it i realized it didnt give me that much pleasure of drinking it, i dont think it even tasted as good as i remembered, and i used to drink soda almost everyday.

Soo......... Is there anything you dont miss from before you started dieting?

Some of the things I don't miss are:

getting winded when I walk
pain in my knees going up stairs
shopping at plus-sized stores
French Fries (the smell makes me queasy now)
avoiding being photographed

lets see , I don't miss fried foods, and heavy carbed foods like our favorite meal around here was chicken and noodles over mashed taters with corn on the side along with a homemade dinner roll. I don't miss that at all.

blood sugar swings
that overstuffed feeling at night

The feeling of being too full
Soda
Fast food
Packaged cookies (like Chips a Hoy)

the overstuffed feeling at night, the bad crappy feeling you get when you wake up the morning after the overstuffed night, fried foods and bloating, feeling like you can't walk after you finish a meal, spending lots of money on junk, the list is endless!!! (most importantly, the guilt that follows a session of "pigging" out)

Isn't that strange? I used to love pizza and pasta, and now that I love salads so much, I'd rather have salads over anything!!!! Funny, i never thought my favorites would be so displeasing after a while. :D

It's soda for me as well. Sometimes I will accidentally get a regular soda when I order a diet soda at a restaurant and it's so gross now... way way too sweet. Unfortunately, that's happened with Starbuck's coffee now, too. :(

Avoiding people so they wont see how much weight I gained from the last time I saw them.

Things I dont miss...

knee pain, soda (9 of em a day), my size 14 jeans

sierra_ttw 04-02-2006 03:09 PM

Feeling uncomfortably full, which I used to feel every night
Eating foods that made me tired and having no energy
really rich foods make me kinda sick now - like heavy cream sauces and too much cheese

happydaisy 04-02-2006 03:56 PM

I don't miss the low energy, the beating myself up for poor food choices and I don't miss being bloated. :)

You took the words right out of my mouth. I avoided Walmart for four years for this reason. Now I'm out ALL of the time and have only ran into ONE person I used to work with and that was 40 pounds ago. Cruel irony.

I don't miss Mcdonalds or Taco Bell or Wendy's, etc..., Vanilla Coke, giant chocolate chip muffins, crullers, hot pockets, chinese food, real sugar in my tea and coffee, and cheesecake.

I don't think I actually miss anything, but when it's around, I eat it. The only thing I DO miss is chocolate, which I ate everyday before until satisfaction. And now I have to fight the cravings like crazy.
