I don't miss sodas anymore. Like you I spent about two or three month’s drinking water and took myself completely off sodas. I had a diet soda a few days ago and I just did not care for it. It was too sweet; I did not care for the carbonated water. I found that displeasureable.

I do not miss fast foods (Taco Bell was a big weakness) I found out it is much more pleasurable to cook at home. I know what is going in my food, I know how to make it taste good, and it doesn't have all that extra calories slopped onto it like some how the fast food or restaurants cook.

I don't miss the lower back pains that I greeted to every morning for the past few months. The mornings were very horrible for me. I would have to spend an hour for the back pains to let up. It is like I had to move around for a bit for my lower back to lubricate.

I do not miss the heavy footed sounds I would hear as I walk. That has improved lately since I dropped off 18Lbs. I no longer here the inside of the oven rattle when I walk by or hear my dresser mirror shake. How embarrassing.:o

Now strangely...even the thought of McDonalds which used to be our favorite, makes me ill...the smell can actually cause me to feel sick. I just think about all that fat and what it does to our arteries and I feel nausious. I wont lie though I do miss sweet food, like chocolate especially as we approach easter. I really thought I would miss fried and fast food..I was sure that I would and that I would go through this withdrawal thing...but the excercise must have cured it because I dont miss it for one moment and I am certain never to look back.Great comments everyone :)

I don't miss Mac D's but I do miss KFC although I don't miss how it made me *feel* :barf:

I don't miss my trousers splitting inside the thighs

I don't miss not being able to fit into tube seats

I don't miss crisps (chips) I can't remember when I last had a packet!

I don't miss jammy doughnuts - they're far too greasy for me now!

I don't miss not being able to run!

I don't miss my belly and my butt jiggling in an exercise class!

I sort of pigged out last night (I'd only eaten 467 calories the entire day, so I was STARVING) on pasta w/homemade cheese sauce and a bagel I prepared like garlic bread. I prepared about 2 1/2 cups of the cooked pasta to eat (by myself, no less!), and put a few asparagus spears on top to make myself feel better. Also had my first regular soda in months. Well, I ate MAYBE 1 1/2 cups of the pasta, half of the bagel and ALL the asparagus, and was too, too full. Not to mention the fact that the regular soda made me feel icky. So, that brings me to what I don't miss:

- Feeling overfull all the time. It's amazing to me that I can actually be SATISFIED without being full!
- Not being able to exercise for more than 10 minutes at a time. Now it's normal for me to go 40 minutes or more.
- Having a tight fit in my "fat undies". I still wear them because I can't afford new ones at the moment, but I keep having to adjust them when I walk. Seems like it could be time for new ones soon!
- Hearing others comment about how fat I was. Especially people younger than me (children and young teens) used to insult me a lot because of how much I weighed. Now the same people that used to do that have no weapons against me, since I'm working HARD to get my weight down. One of these people is also overweight, so it's rather hypocritical.
- Feeling ashamed of my body. About a year and a half ago, I came to an acceptance of my body. I feel.. well, MOSTLY comfortable in my own skin. I feel comfortable enough to dance around my room naked. :o

"Fat food" was what I first typed when I meant to say Fast Food - funny but true. Anyways, I use to love the convienence of fast food, and got fat -- but now I find it frustrating because their isn't anything low-cal, healthy and good to order. I would rather just make a yummy healthy meal at home now :)

I don't miss trying to position myself strategically in photographs as to avoid any unsightly bulges (double chins, spare tire, etc.).

I don't miss feeling like I'm the most unhealthy person I know.

I don't miss shopping exclusively in the plus sized stores.

I don't miss not having wrist/collar/hip bones.

I don't miss pop.

I don't miss my size 20 jeans feeling "snug"...

I don't miss the way people would never look me in the eye.

Honestly I can finally say I don't miss General Tso chicken from the Chinese food restaurant. I use to eat that every weekend, but after reading something on a site about it, I couldn't believe that it has over 1000 calories. Yuck.

I don't miss McDonald's. Bye Bye French fries.

I don't miss soda, all that gas and sugar is not worth it.

I don't miss my fat face lol.

I don't miss white rice.

I don't miss green tea, I don't need it to loose weight. Water is my new best friend.

I don't miss being a size 26. I'm almost down to a 22. I cant wait.

Ready2ShedLBS 04-03-2006 11:12 PM

Fast food...gag.. havent had ANY in a year

When it comes to food the only thing I don't miss is the stuffed-so-bad-it-hurts feeling. I still like all those foods and still eat them in moderation. Yes I may get lectured for this but I'm being honest ;)

Other things I don't miss...
Getting winded all the time
Size 20
Weighing over 200 pounds
Feeling like the fattest person everywhere I went
Buying clothes just because they fit
etc etc

hotnewspirits 04-04-2006 01:24 PM

I don't miss pondering whether wearing my hair up or down will hide my 'round' face

I don't miss worrying about meeting my boyfriends female friends because they are all so thin

I don't miss white bread

I don't miss pop! you're all so right. it's waaaay to sugary!!

Kashi 04-04-2006 03:58 PM

I don't miss fast food.

I don't miss waking up in the middle of the night feeling sick from bedtime binges.

I don't miss chips.

I don't miss feeling completely powerless over myself.

lilybelle 04-06-2006 03:21 PM

I don't miss having shortness of breath; don't miss the size 20 jeans; don't miss being too tired for a relationship with husband, don't miss being too tired to attend my child's school activities, don't miss the Lane Bryant catalogs, don't miss the guilty feeling of being to tired and lazy to do much of anything, don't miss being bloated from over-eating, don't miss the scoldings I always got from my doctor about my weight. I don't even miss all the fattening foods I used to eat. Do occasionally miss chocolate, but found that a couple small pieces of sugar-free, low-carb candy can satisfy me if I have a craving.

Goodbye Chubby 04-06-2006 03:45 PM

Is this sad?

I was reading through some of the posts on this thread, and the only thing I don't miss is the weight that I've lost since my diet.

I still want pizza, I still want fast food, I still want soda (diet soda isn't that bad though), and I desparetly miss the simple pleasure of eating a sandwich on wonderbread (it's a little bit of childhood), which is something I haven't had in close to a year.

Anyway, this is supposed to be an uplifting thread. So yay weightloss! :carrot:

I don't really miss fast food :burger:, believe it or not.

When I started dieting I cut out all things like Wendy's, Burger King, etc. I used to LOVE eating lunch at BK, especially when those new chicken fries came out. Well, about three months after I started the diet, DH and I on a whim went to BK for dinner and I had the chicken fries. Well...YUCK! I couldn't believe that I used to eat that stuff. The fries were still *pretty* good but the chicken was icky and just didn't taste like real food to me.
