I weigh once a week. It would be too hard for me to see the daily fluctuations and not get upset about it. When I first started this weight loss journey I weighed 2 or 3 times a week, but was losing at a much faster rate and it was good to see. Now I only lose 3 or 4 lbs. monthly and it isn't quite as exciting to weigh.

I am a compulsive weigher. I do it every day. At least once a day. I find it helpful for monitoring hydration, at least. Today, I've weighed twice already. Like everyone else has said, the key is to not get too upset or emotionally vested in what the scale tells you. I only update my ticker once a week (on official weigh-in days).

I'm a daily weigher, and like dalai_lala I keep a spreadsheet. I have been tracking my progress since 09/2005 and having the graph of my weight vs. time helps me see what is happening to me. I also set it up with a trendline so that I can predict how much I will weigh if I keep up with my current rate of weight loss. Seeing that prediction inspires me, and if I'm up for the day, I recognize it as just a fluctuation above the line, some days are above, some are below.

In 2005 when I wasn't exercising, the slope of my weight loss graph was pretty gradual, but I started exercising a month ago and the slope got steeper. It's great to be able to see that kind of thing! At least for me, it's inspiring!

I'm too psychotic to weigh every day. I weigh every two weeks now that I am in maintenance and once a week when I was dieting. Works for me! I just put the scale away.
