I agree. Soda is the worst. Infact my dietician had how much sugar just one can of coke had in it. Wowsa! Also look at those serving sizes girls on those prepacked foods. That was another tip my dietician told me. Sometimes their serving size is only 1/2 and you think the calories/fat/etc. they show is for the WHOLE thing. Very tricky indeed!
The things I have given up are #1 soda #2 bread #3pasta #4 white rice #5 potatoes #6 sugar #7 starches Most anything else, I can eat on my chosen plan. I have found a new love for many different types of veggies. I am a great cook, esp. of Italian and Mexican food. I have adapted my Mexican cooking to go with my food plan, but not really possible to do with Italian food.
Bringing foods into the house that I know will trigger a binge and which I historically have had no control over. Peanut butter is my ultimate childhood comfort food and when I get bored/depressed/sad I will reach for a loaf of bread and the jar of peanut butter and continue until one or the other is gone. At times I have convinced myself that I can have it around and enjoy it in moderation. But it never works, I am simply not that stong --- yet! Better off not buying it. That, pasta, and baked goods have to be out of temptations reach.
Also, I had to get into the habit of cooking -every- evening for dinner (I love to cook, but we used to eat out 3-4 times per week, now its 1-2 times per MONTH, and it takes a lot more of my time - and dish-washing time).

*Flady*
Now manufactutrers are considering writing the WHOLE CALORIE COUNT of the entire CONTENTS- I noticed some potato chip companies have a 2nd column now- one being the calories per serving and one for calories for entire bag
I think they should. Because sometimes it can be a bit deceptive. Like I looked at a mini bag of popcorn and the serving size was only for one cup! Now I ask. Who eats ONE cup of pop corn? Okay maybe someone does, but most people will eat the whole bag. Esp. the mini ones.
