It's 1600 - 1800 calories a day for me. Three main reasons. One: I am nursing & really don't feel comfortable going under that. Two: I have heard & liked the theory that you should eat the number of calories to maintain your goal weight (this is something the Navy used to teach), and 1800 is that for me. Three: I like food and there's really no need to go lower. I've no desire to stress my body by extreme calorie-cutting, & even less to have rebound weight gain because I chose a calorie level I couldn't reasonably stick to.

I aim for 1200 but i have trouble getting there each day. Most days i only eat maybe 900. I tried throwing an egg or 2 in between meals to raise it but WOW eggs yolk certainly carry alot of fat. I still havent weighed mydelf yet...waiting till wednesday!

I usually have 1200-1500. I average 1400 a day.

I am 5'3" and I eat about 1500 cal / day and is currently losing about 1 to 1.5 pound per week.

Am I the shortest one on this forum? At 5'1", I'm definitely the shortest person (over 12) that I know. My 10-year old nephew is nearly as tall as me!

I'm working my way down to between 1200-1400 calories. I'm actually doing quite well considering I only started counting calories three days ago. I started at 1650, and I'm already down to 1477. Slowly just eating less junk food, increasing my veggie intake (a big salad every day!) and it's really paying off for me. I've also been eating a can of one type of veggies as a snack every day. Fiber, fiber, fiber!

If I eat 1500 cals a day I don't lose weight at all. At 1200 cals a day I can drop a pound and a half a week. I exercise regularly--Curves 3x a week and walking on the other days. But 1500 just has never worked out. Maybe once I can do more strenuous exercise I can change that.

I'm 5'7 and I usually eat about 1100-1200 calories a day. But I couldn't imagine eating more calories because it's a strugle trying to get to 1200...

Freddy you sound like me. I'm not exercising too much right now and i wanted to see how eating about 1200-1300 calories a day would affect my weight loss if i didn't exercise. I lave lost about 3lbs in 2 weeks. I am 5'5". I am gonna start back exercising this week though. I wanna lose 2 lbs a week.
