It took me awhile to figure out how to 'get over' using the treadmill. I play my ipod music and this is my trick.....cover up all the digital readouts except heartrate. I automatically enter 45 minutes NO MATTER WHAT....and then cover everything up. This little trick psych's out your visual cue of How many more minutes until I'm done? I also try to time it so there is a class going on so I'm looking at them while I'm on the treadmill. So far its worked wonders and I know of a few others that it seems to work on also. Just a thought!!!

Try yoga - it's amazing how frickin' difficult just standing still can be. It really helps me center myself. I have a couple of DVDs, including "Shiva Rea - Yoga Shakti", which is my favorite. It has 4 workouts, but also a function where you can design your own workout by combining different sections of the 4 set workouts. Completely awesome. I can chose which parts of the body I want to work on, how long I want to exercise for, and best of all I don't get bored since I can constantly switch up my routine. I'd highly reccommend either this DVD or another one with the same feature. It doesn't take much room to do yoga either.

Other suggestions - belly dancing DVDs are always a hoot, or anything fun. I was in Tae Kwon Do for a few years and loved it, it made me feel healthy, strong, and confident.

On the treadmill, I bring a magazine or book. It means I have to go a little slower, and stay on a little longer, but at least I'm occupied and not bored.

Hope these help.

Another thing to try might be some sort of interval training. I like to challenge myself with intervals ranging anywhere from 30 seconds to 3 minutes.
