Unhappy Fed up!

I need some support. I am doing good right now. this morning was the first time this week since I started that I actually didn't want to exercise. But I did and I can tell you I feel so happy I got it out of the way today. I fear what I will be feeling after this weekend passes. Usually after a weekend I end up getting lazy and giving up. This is what happened 2 months ago. I never gained weight though.
I guess you can say I am really fed up with this weight and I want to lose it. Since I gained it (4 1/2 years ago) all my thoughts and dreams about myself are of me the way I was thin. Then the reality hits when I look in the mirror. I can't believe I did this.
Then I think about my friends, they too are thin. I will try to avoid my weight problems with them. Just the other day I was so happy I was losing weight I told one of my friends. She remarked "Well, I wouldn't know I have never had any weight problems." Then she told me about a conversation she had with a store clerk who was shocked that she had 2 kids under 4 years old. He had said to her "I'm shocked that you are so thin b/c normally women who have children normally gain alot of weight. You on the other hand are very thin" Then she told him "Well, actually I lost weight with no work on my part." I was floored, I just wonder what she might be saying about me behind my back to her other friends.
I don't want to be like this forever. My husband and I are planning on having more children. Which means I am not on birth control. I am breastfeeding, this has postponed my periods (has not come at all). My son is 11 months old now. I'm hoping to lose all this weight before I get pregnant.
In a nut shell I'm tired of looking the way I do. I have no desire to dress up or put make up on. I do dress up sometimes but its not like I used to be. Before you couldn't catch me dead without wearing make up. I wouldn't leave the house without it.
I'm walking 3 miles a day and also working out to Tae Bo.

Why are you fed up? You've lost more than half what you've set out to lose. That shouldn't be a reason to be fed up but a reason to be happy, to celebrate. Keep reminding yourself of the goal and of how it makes you feel afterward whenever you feel yourself wanting to drop off the exercise. Also try different exercise routines. Try to make it enjoyable. Keep trying different approaches to it, change the time and/or location you exercise in, until you find that the exercise is interesting to you and that you are motivated to do it. If you don't get the motivation, change it again. But keep doing it.

Some people have a metabolism that just allows them to lose the weight after pregnancy without effort, some of us don't. If she's saying anything about you, that's her hangup, don't let it be yours. It takes a shallow person to say something about weight behind someone's back. But don't go thinking she is and let it upset you. That upset can only mess up your diet, make you feel depressed and likely binge eat. And you don't know for certain if she is saying anything. So don't let your thoughts run away and get the best of you.

My weight lose have been over a course of 7 months. I've given up many times. Its not until 2 weeks ago that I lost 5 lbs. with just the Dr phil diet that really motivated me to continue (hopefully) to the end. For some reason I plateaued at 150 lbs. for the longest time. No matter whaty I did I couldn't get out of the 150's. As soon as I did I told myself "this is it I am not turning back, its all about going forward."
If you can Bug me, PM me on Monday to make sure I don't get lazy after the weekend. I'm going to try to exercise Saturday and Sunday.

Hey rakoon I'm with almostheaven! You should be proud. Yes, it's taken you a while to lose it, BUT that means you haven't gained!!! Ultimately it doesn't matter how many times you fall down as long as you keep picking yourself up!

I find when I get too grumpy about those with less efficient metabolisms (hey, those of us who gain weight easily are just built for endurance and survival!!) I tend to get discouraged. I start thinking it's so unfair that some folks (like your friend) are naturally thin without trying, while I am struggling to lose weight. But, there's no fair in it. We're all just built differently. So, it might take you longer, and it will certainly take more work for you but you can do it!!!

Have you tried setting an exercise goal for yourself? I tried that for the first time this month and it worked really well for me. I already surpassed my July goal and I'm doing great. I also have come to think of exercise as medicine... I have to do it. I have to get moving. I have to do at least 20 minutes. Usually it's more but I just have to do something. I have even danced around and stepped in front of my favorite show when that was the only time I had.

Just think, it won't just be good for your weight loss but it will be great for your fitness. Your baby will be running around in no time and you want to keep up right? Try setting rewards for yourself as well as goals, something to look forward to and help motivate you when the 'don'twannas' are creeping up on you.

Good luck with your exercise this weekend! You can do this! You have already come so far!!!!

Thank you Bell, This morning I told my husband to wake me up early in the morning (before he left to work) B/C I wanted to get out there before the day got too hot. I didn't want to give myself an excuse not to workout.
You know what I think I broke my own record for the longest I have ever worked out. A whole week, YEAHY!!! Bell you can nag me tomarrow if you want b/c those thoughts are really coming strong (giving up).
I talked to a friend of mine who has also gained some weight to see if she was trying to lose it. She said she wasn't happy about the weight but she wasn't in a hurry to lose it b/c she loves food too much. For a split second I envied her for being content where she was.
Bell did you lose weight? I just noticed you only have 1 lb. to complete your mini goal.

Don't give up!!!!!

I've lost the weight by reducing calories (I journal everything I eat), exercising and I'm eating Low Glycemic Index foods which was recommended by my doctor. Lots of fruits and veggies and lots of patience LOL!

I've been exercising a lot, even though I don't especially like to do it but I've been making myself do it. My goal for July was to complete 400 minutes and I'm already past 600.

It is possible to still enjoy food and lose weight. I eat really well, in fact I've been eating better since I started my weight loss efforts! It just means we have to enjoy less of it if we want to see less of ourselves. In fact, I baked cookies today. They are low gi, low fat, low calorie oatmeal chocolate chip cookies but they taste really good! I don't believe in deprivation and I refuse to go hungry. I am determined to lose the weight in a nourishing and healthy way rather than deprive myself and then gain it all back (as I have done in the past). My personal goal as I lose the weight is to be kind to myself.

It can be done! Patience is the best weight loss tool I've found thus far!

Keep up the good work!
