I got the same "ghetto booty" and I shop I Lane bryant and love it. I wear the 14/16 in the shirt, but is it me or are the shirts just don't quite fix right. I know I have a smaller chest (38B bra size), but I am not that small.
I hate going to one store for a shirt and trying to find the biggest shirt in the normal stores and sometime they don't carry my size /cry.If I do have my shirt and it's my size for some reason why does it look like it's 3 sizes smaller then it should be.
If I go to Lane Bryant I have to always look at the way it cut. I feel kind of strange buying the ones with the gathering on the side of the chest area, they concave when i wear them lol.
5'6 260lbs size 20 pants (although I haven't purchased any in a LLOOOONNNGG time but since that is the latest and greatest size I'll assume a 20.)
Size 18 tops!
Hey Sweet.....
Tell me again what problems you are having with the way clothes fit at Lane Bryant. I work there and maybe I can help steer you toward some things that will fit better.........? I have a problem with tops, too. Now, I do have some big boobies - but my bottom is still bigger than my top and I have a small waist. So shirts fit weird, pants gape at the waist (except for pants from LB that have "stretch") if they fit my butt, thighs and hips....<sigh> It's tough to look good, but I have made a priority of it! That's one reason I work there - great discount!
I generally wear a size 12 in pants, depending on the cut. The waists are usually a little too big, but I have to shop for the size of my butt/thighs, lol.
Gemma- I think you got some conversion wrong or something, if you are
5'7 and 135 pounds you should be a size 8-10, unless you have a very odd shaped body lol...
Two things that can affect the varying sizes. One is yes, our body shapes. But the second is how we prefer our clothing. Some of us may say we wear an 8-10, but we're squeezing into them and like our jeans to show off our form. Others may prefer a 10-12 and have them hang a bit lose for comfort.
However, now that I've gone back to see what size Gemma wears, I'm curious now myself as well.
I'm a perfect example of the size doesn't always equal the weight. I'm 5'3", and wear anywhere from a 20 to a 24 in pans. HOWEVER, I have to buy this size so that my back problem {which adds several inches aronud the waist} will fit.
I have SUCH issues with clothes at Lane Bryant! All of my friends head to the states to shop there, but last time I was in there all the pants came up to my boobs, and the sales person told me that they don't do low rise pants. And if they do it's only in jeans, and I am always desperate for dress pants. I'm hoping I can get to a 16 soon and then I can shop in "regular" stores.
