Thumbs up pitch it!!

mscat, It seems we're living parallel lives! I'm feeling the same way as you and when I read your post I want to say, take that scale and throw it against the wall! You don't need it, just stay away from it. Being scale phobic is fine! You're not a boxer, you're not a bodybuilder or a jockey. You DON'T have to make weight. You don't need to know the numbers. LOOK at yourself and ask yourself, do you like the way things are going? Say YES!!! and leave it at that. You go GIRL!!

Hi guys,

I am sorry to interrupt as I am NOT a seasoned "poster" but I would like to ask you a question since you seem to know ALOT about losing weight and what to eat when etc..
I would like to know if it would be feasable for me to lose 15lbs by christmas by eating around 1300 to 1400/day and walking/running 12 miles/week.
I am trying to lose the pregnancy weight but really need to set goals for myself or I KNOW the weight will never shed and will only exponentially multiply with the next baby.
PLease please please..can you answer my question. Thanks in advance .

Ellasmom, Hello there. First question is, what do you weigh now?

Hi redballon,
To answer your question, I am currently oscillating between 127 and 129, depending on the day.I would like to get back to 115ish which I was at before without an ounce of effort besides leading a somewhat healthy lifestyle .
I am 5"3 by the way...hello to all shorties out there ,

What do you think?unattainable goal, doable but with a willpower of steel?
My oh my..only questions .
I really enjoy reading your posts, they have a lot of good tips and common sense .I will try to post in this thread but I never seem to find time to get on the pc these days ..well, not for fun that is .
happy sunday to you
Bea

Bea,

I'd say that would be rough going at that weight. You sound to be already quite lean unless you have very little muscle mass. Even for bodybuilders getting into competition shape you should only be losing 1 kg a week (2.2 lbs). Of course, they are trying not to lose any muscle mass, only fat. I say you could do it but it would not be healthy probably and you would lose some muscle. But yes, if you most definitely HAVE to get to this weight I think you COULD do it. Is there a reason you have to get to this particular number (like a bet or something)? If not, I would just aim for it by sticking to your plan, which sounds good but I'd up the exercise unless you're already very active. Some resistance training would tighten you up but it may add some weight. You would look smaller/better though so, again, unless the number is the goal I'd go for it!!

Thanks for your input redballon. My wanting to hit the 115lbs mark comes from the fact that I weighed 115lbs for the past 10 years (before the baby) and I would like nothing more than to be able to fit in my prepregnancy jeans .
Now I get the fact that it is only a # on a scale which hardly reflects the fat/muscle mass ratio but I suppose I didn't think of that in lenght until now .
Thing is , I hate strengh training ..I'd rather run 100 miles than go to the gym and lift a 2lbs weight ..haha.I guess I should change my attitude on that hu .
Anyhow, thanks again for your time.
May I ask if you are from Japan or if you were born in the US..what took you to japan etc? just curious.
And what are the eating habits there ..
Ciao for now

Default This week's challenge!

Just wanted to crow about my past challenge - 3 ab workouts - I did 4! 3 Cardio - did 5! And I did not eat any white processed foods all week - that is no flour or flour based products, no sugar, no salt!

I had brown rice today and some no-fat yogurt (2 of my allowed carbs/dairy). I thought I was in heaven. I am thinking about making some baked sweet potatoe fries - hmmmmm.

Challenges for this week:
4 ab workouts
4 cardio workouts
5 days of no white processed foods

Red - I may add abstaining from the scale again - I am still out to lunch on whether or not I am going to act like a jockey I don't want to be a slave to it. I know you really believe I can go at least another week without it. I am sooooo curious right now. But I am going to try to hold off.

M.N.J. - You have been working so hard - I hope you met your goals for the week! Thanks for your encouragement as well.

Hope everyone else had a great week - Southern Butterfly, PhotogirlTX, KD, and anyone I may have missed!
