The scale is reporting another half pound loss this morning which would put me at -36.5 pounds total loss. A loss of 3 pounds since starting Atkins on Sunday. Doing Atkins when more appropriately treated for my hypothyroidism is hugely different than being under medicated. When I did it before while under medicated, it was a struggle every day. This go around it has been fairly easy and it is so wonderful to actually see a positive result on the scale. I don't believe the pounds are gone forever just yet but at least it is something!

Unbelievably, so unbelievable I don't quite believe it yet myself, the scale is reporting another half pound loss. This puts me at a total loss of 37 pounds, 3.5 pounds since starting Atkins on Sunday (4 days ago). To me, this cannot be a real loss but if I keep at it, at some point it should turn into a real loss.

I have never seen results like this not even when I was on a GLP-1 or when I did Atkins 20 years ago. I feel okay. I have been battling pretty significant fatigue since mid-April. The fatigue seems to finally be letting up. Hunger wise it hasn't been bad. Usually by the time I get start to get hungry it is time to eat another meal.

Absolutely unreal! Down another half pound! Four successful days on Atkins and down 4 pounds. This puts me at -37.5 total loss. Exciting but not since I have been here before. I am starting to crack a little on the low carb side. I definitely would like some refined carbs but will hang on for the next week. Phase 1 lasts 2 weeks.

The magic is gone. Gained a half pound this morning despite still being on plan. At -36.5 total and -3.5 pound since starting Atkins. Slept a lot better last night and feel a bit better this morning.

Default -37.5

A stunning 4 pound loss this week. Really happy it paid off but of course I have doubts I can keep it off. I've been here at least two times before. Everyday this week I stayed below my calorie limit with the exception of today. I haven't gone over yet but I only have 115 calories left for lunch. I ate too much at dinner last night. Kind of understandable since I have ice skated over 13 miles (150 laps around the rink) in the last 3 days.

This next week is Atkins Phase 1 Week 2. Phase 1 use to be call Induction. It is limited to 20 net carbs per day. I've been pretty happy with my options and choices. Over the moon with the results on the scale and just wish I had faith in myself to keep it off. For the first four days on the diet I did not miss carbs but have been missing them a little over the last couple of days.

Today, I have two social events to manage and I am not sure what I am going to do about food. I have decided I will open my dinner eating window a little early. The second event is right at dinner time and if I go hungry, I will definitely screw up.

There are different reports about when fat burning begins on a low carb diet. Some sources say it just takes a couple of days and others say up to fourteen days. Either way, I am happy to have made some sort of progress even if I regain it again. It is nice to have broken out of a plateau for at least a little while.

Holding steady at -37.5 pounds total loss. Interestingly, yesterday I was over on calories by a fair amount and today I was under the calorie limit by more that I was over the day before.

Saw a new article that said people should engage in 560-610 minutes of moderate to vigorous exercise per week. This a lot higher than the 150 minutes currently recommended. A long time ago, I read that to lose weight you need to be doing 450 minutes of exercise per week.

Currently, I vary between 410 minutes and 445 minutes a week. It has taken commitment to do this much and I am not sure how I would add more.
