Will be starting my whole year on January 1st. If anyone wants to join along you are welcome.
Ive split my goals into 2 kilo increments. So 49 kilo then 47 kilo.

My plan will be the following.

1500 calories a day give or take 100 calories either way. High amount of protein over 100 grams a day no other restrictions on what I eat even if I generally eat the same meals most days.
10000 steps a day.
5 strength training workouts a week with 2 rest days.
No alcohol or overeating except for twice a month. I will have a cheat on the 14th and 28th of each month. No calorie counting, no need to do a workout and can enjoy some drinks. Any major holidays that require less strict diet during the year I’ll shift the chest day to the day so I can celebrate.

Looking to just lose 0.5 to 0.75 kilo a month. Slow and steady weight loss while putting on muscle is my goal. I’d like to continue keeping it off as I have the last 4 years.

Day one is not a great example for the rest of the year. A little hungover on New Year’s Day and worn out. My smart watch also told me I was in need of a rest as I’d been over doing it. So with all of that I skipped the workout and watched movies. I ate better than I have been but still more than I usually would. I find after a period of heavy eating and drinking it’s a little easier to ease back in. Tomorrow I’ll aim for around 1650 calories and then back to 1500. I’ll do a workout Friday and Sunday this week it’s weird starting the week on a Wednesday for this. Scale says I’ve gained 1 kilo over the holidays. That’s not that bad really is it. Hopefully some of that is food weight. So that leaves me with 2.6 kilos to goal 1.

So much better today. Hangover is banished! I also slept great and woke up and grabbed some caffeine and got moving. Think my body really appreciated the sloth like day yesterday. Today is a rest day, but I’m doing some cleaning and I planted some new seeds in seedling trays for the garden. So I should get some extra movement in doing all that. As you can tell I’m catching up on all the housework and garden stuff that was ignored during the holidays. Even got the laundry done.

Worked out my intake for the day aiming around 1600 if I need a bit more and feel hungry. By Saturday I aim to be at my calorie goal completely. Weight was up a little more today, not really bothered.

Have not had time to really update. However am on track. Intake is back to where it should be and the gradual reduction helped. Weight is still up and then I realised as I was an emotional wreck that it’s actually PMS. So that cheered me up and I expect I’ll actually lose some weight after my period. Getting back into my workouts has made me see how fast you lose condition. Right now I have sore abs from a ab and core workout on Friday and sore shoulders from a cardio weight workout on Sunday and I just did so many squats for leg day. So I know I’ll have sore quads tomorrow.

This is all good though it’s nice to be back in my routine and I really hope to reach my final goal sometime this year.

I am still so so sore. My thighs just ache! Today I did shoulders and triceps so I bet I will ache in my arms tomorrow too. Got back out in the garden today and racked up 14000 steps by lunchtime. Weight is the same but until the period is gone I doubt I’ll see much change.

My legs feel better today. Which is a relief I was so sore last night. Worked my glutes and hamstrings today and sitting down with a protein shake now. I also think I’m getting cramps and proud of myself for sticking to my workouts and not giving in to just wanting to sit around and eat. Last night I had cravings and binge urges like nothing else. Even though I had eaten dinner and had an evening snack I was ravenous. Made no sense as I was still really full from eating. I went to sleep with this hunger and in the night I dreamt of food and when I woke up to go to the bathroom I was still thinking of food. Woke up this morning though and felt normal again.


Hormones! Misery isn’t it.

So I feel the next few days are going to be a bit rough. I’m also very bloated and I’m sure the sore muscles isn’t going to help either so I’ll not weigh in until I feel both less bloated and less hormonal. Tomorrow is a rest day and on Saturday I’m going out for a meal with a friend. So going to check out the restaurant menu before hand to pick a healthy option. Going to also keep up increased protein for the next few days for muscle recovery and in the hope it might help with some of the cravings (lol yeah right buy worth a shot)

Triceps workout today pushed myself with the weight level to hopefully see some gains. This is my weakest area. I also thinks the lack of any weight loss so far this year is from gaining muscle. I’ve really made an effort to keep my protein up and increase my weights. Last year the last 8 weeks I didn’t increase my weights much and didn’t see much gain in muscle. I’m feeling strong and my hope is that if I put more muscle on my loose skin will look less obvious.

I am also shifting up when I eat. Ever since the excess of Christmas and new years I’m struggling to not binge eat. I’m generally fine during the day and when I’m busy. Then after dinner when I’m full I get the urge to keep eating even though I’m full and not hungry. So what I’m going to do is switch one of my afternoon snacks to night time. As a life long binge eater one if the things that really helped me is eating a lot of small meals often. So I’m eating 7 times a day. I eat twice in the afternoon post lunch. So I’m going to move one of those afternoon meals to before bed. So I will have dinner around 6pm, my first evening snack at 730 pm and then I’ll have this new one around 930pm. I weigh in the morning so it will mess that up for a week I’m sure but I think it could help. It’s horrible going to the fridge ten times at night opening it and closing it. So I will report back if this helps out for any fellow bingers.

Ended up not eating the evening snack as I wasn’t even hungry for once! Workout was hams and posterior chain. Felt good and I think I’ve had a really great week. Even if the scale is doing its own thing. Have I finally got rid of the binge urges from Christmas let’s hope so.

No gym today but I have to mow the lawn. So that should get some cardio fitness in. I did. eat my extra meal last night even though I wasn’t hungry hungry again. I felt enough that I wanted to eat it. Didn’t sleep too well, lot on my mind and found it hard to drift off.
