I think there's a little bit of a myth around the whole
starvation mode idea in the world of eating plans. It's true that after a few
days of not eating, our bodies indeed go into starvation mode and our metabolism slows down, nature's way of ensuring survival. But eating one meal per day is something our
ancestors (cavemen) probably did quite easily. We truly need far less food than western society has become accustomed. I once asked a world war II veteran how he stayed so slim. This guy was almost 90 years old. He said I walk 10 miles a day and eat very little. I'll never forget that.
