Default Feeling alone and stuck

Hello ,I'm new and I am 316 lbs. I feel like I'm stuck in a rut and in denial as well. I don't feel good about me anymore and I don't recognize myself in the mirror anymore. One my issues that I'm having lately is, my boyfriend and I go on dates alot and we usually go to alot of different restaurants. I will be doing well on my eating plan but as soon as we go out, which is a few times a week, I blow it. It feels almost impossible to eat healthy. I know I can choose a healthy meal instead but for some reason I make it ok, because he's blowing his diet too. Has anyone been through this and do you have any suggestions?

If it's hard then I wouldn't go out at all, why make it harder? Try to learn to cook delicious, healthy food at home . Try new recipes every week.

Why not try asking your waiter for a to go box at the beginning of your meal? You can put half of the meal in it. That way you have half for dinner and half for lunch tomorrow.

Also agreed on going out less and cooking at home more.

That is hard when both you and your partner are in it together. What we did was we got on the same page. We always do portion control- we split something. Also stopped eating out as often, and we always, always go for a walk afterwards.

Now if your guy is not really wanting to stick to the diet you may need to suggest other things to do together- we go out to a local coffee shop sometimes just to get out.

My bf and I fell off the diet wagon together many times for sooo long and unfortunately I had to be the strong one and say No to eating out and No to bringing home unhealthy foods and also sometimes I just have to do my own thing.

I have tried so many "diets" in my life and I can tell you that is the problem, "diets". Your mindset needs to change. If you are thinking, "I will restrict myself for a time in order to lose weight and then once I lose it, I will go right back to what I always have done", you will fail. I like what many others have said on different threads in here. Begin changing 1 thing at a time i.e. if you drink soda, stop, if you eat candy, stop, drink more water, go to the mall to walk. Your journey begins with a step, a step forward.

Best Wishes!
Emmy
