Default small changes each week

Hi All,
I have 60 pounds to lose. I've regained a bunch of weight and need to get things going in the right direction. So I'm going to make one diet change and one lifestyle/exercise change a week. Feel free to join me.

I'm starting on easy things and trying to build momentum before tackling the harder ones.
This week:
Diet change: drink less diet coke (next week I will cut it out completely)
Lifestyle chang: exercise 4 times this week.

I'll post each day with my results of the day to keep me accountable. Feel free to do the same.

I'm not goibg to focus on the weight here just the changes in habits.

I'm 9 weeks post ankle and shoulder surgery so my exercise is going to be fairly minimal at first.

Ok well I'll check in tomorrow with how today went!

Day 1: (166.4)
It went well,

Diet goal: cut out at least 3 times I would have had diet coke and had water instead.

Lifestyle goal: I went to swim training and did 1600m, which was slow and hard, but I was happy with the distance given it was my first session back 9 weeks after my surgeries.

Today I hope to have only 2 diet cokes, and do 40 minutes easy spin on the stationary bike.

I have swimming on thursday and I signed up to a yoga class on Friday so that would mean I have done my targeted 4 sessions before the weekend. It was nice to get up and do something last night.

Hope everyone has a great day!

If you're anything like me, you'll need more than a week to kick Diet Soda. And until I had really kicked all those cravings to the curb (it took two months), there was no way I could have focused on my next goal - cutting out real sugar things. I was literally having dreams about having a Diet Coke. I was an addict.

YMMV, but I wanted to put it out there that incorporating some goals may take longer than a week.

Thanks,i totally agree some will take longer and if I need more time I will give myself more for sure.

I did stop diet coke for a year or so, and just after my operations started again stupidly. So it's not as ingrained as before I figured one week cutting down. And one week stopping should be ok this time around... But we shall see if it takes longer it does, as long as I'm heading I the right direction.

Yesterday was good, swim training again. Hard session and a bit fast so my should had enough after 1000m, but I'm ok with that.

Aerial yoga tonight, trying for the first time. I'm really inflexible so should be hilarious really.

Diet coke restrictions have gone well this week but the weekend will be the real challenge.

If anyone's reading this have a great day! It's friday!!

Hi Jenny keep it up!

I agree, small changes is the way to start! I do the same and it has a snowball effect eventually.

We have similar stats, I am looking to get down to 135 first, which is where I feel I look ok and can wear all my clothes. Then will aim for the 120s.

Good luck!

Thanks! Yeah once I get to mid 140s it's already a lot better, mid 130s start feeling pretty good, alt least that's the good thing about weight loss, you don't need to get to goal before you start seeing benefits!

Good luck to you! Pop by anytime and let me know how you are going!

So yesterday was fun, I went to aerial yoga class, I am hilariously inflexible and so it was a bit embarrassing at first, but I got over it and had lots of fun. Really enjoyed it, would really recommend it.

Am getting better with the diet coke. Should be ok next week I think... I mean it will suck, but I know it passes so should be ok!

Have a great weekend all!

The weekend was good, did a walk Saturday and a 2 hour hike Sunday. Last day of week 1 today. Getting ready for week 2.

Week 2 is going to be no diet coke as my nutrition goal and painting my nails and not biting them for my lifestyle goal.

I'm starting to feel a bit of momentum as I have hit my goals for week 1, not sure what the scale says but if I consistently make small positive lifestyle changes I will get there sooner or later. I'm in this for the long haul not overnight success. Have a great week everyone!

Default Good job!

Keep it up! I restarted today after regaining some weight and also approaching it from the habits perspective. We can do it.
