Default Weight loss struggle

So I'll just give you all the info you need:

I started changing my lifestyle on June 4th 2016, approxiametely 2 months ago. I started at 200lbs. I pretty quickly made my way down to 191 lbs by week 3ish (guess I had a lot of water weight.) I then stalled at 191 for like 3 weeks before getting down to 187, then I stalled at 187 for what felt like ETERNITY. I decided to add some calories/not work out for a couple of days last week to give my body some rest and get adjusted. Right after I started working out again (about a 1.5 weeks) ago, I got down to 185. Now I'm stalled at 185.

Its like everytime i lose 2 lbs or so then I plateau for weeks. I feel like my diet has been a series of multiple plateus and its starting to be really annoying.

As far as my diet goes I feel like i've done everything right. I started out eating 1500 calories a day, i think later in my diet its dropped to like 1,300ish a day. I track all my food & calories into fitbit and am always in line with eating. I work out 5 days a week and increase the intensity every week. It's just incredibly frustrating to break a plateu and then hit one again a week later.

Is there something I need to change or do I just have a wrecked, slow metabolism where I'm gonna lose a pound a month forever?

You're doing well - you have lost 15 pounds in 2 months, or about 8 pounds a month. Losing 8 pounds a month is a lot. Stack up 8 pounds of butter in the grocery store, and contemplate it.

Unless you do extreme exercise as in the biggest loser TV show, which is obviously not sustainable, it would be very unusual to lose as much as 10 pounds a month.

I don't believe in cheat days, or "up" days to "reset the metabolism". Do what you are doing, have confidence that it will work, and if you want to tweak it, move toward mostly protein and vegetables, moderate fat, and low carbs.

I've been on my weight loss journey since Jan. of 2014 and I've just hit my 30 lb mark so some people are just slower at losing then others. Don't feel bad :-)
