  • I am Struggling to get out of the 180s. I am at 183. I've been in the 180s since September.
  • Hi, I am hoping to revive this thread a bit. I haven't been in the 180's long but I am always looking for company until I'm done! I am currently at 186.2 and hanging around there for 3 days. Yes, I am an everyday kind of weigh-in person. It keeps me accountable rather than disappointed.

I have been lifting weights with my husband for the past couple of weeks and hoping that just means I'm more muscular but leaner. Here's to moving downward!

  • So I am moving downward slowly and have lost almost another pound and find myself at 185.4 for the last two days. I'm sure its water due to the muscle inflammation that comes along with weight lifting. We bumped up the weights a tad bit again yesterday and I feel the muscle soreness. It's normal and I still am seeing the inches drop faster than the numbers. Moving in the right direction. I'm just trying hard not to be bored with dieting. I am trying to make good choices a lifestyle more than a diet.
  • Hello, I'm currently having a yo-yo with my weight. Managed to get out of the 180's for a little bit, however due to a small knee injury, I put it all back on again. Now back up to 183 :/
  • Hi Ginger! Would love to have you here with me for those next few lbs. I nudged the scale down to 185 today (I can't help myself in that I weigh every day). Halfway there! Ideally, I'd crack that 179.9 by March 4th. I'm thinking that might be out of reach now. My husband and I have started lifting weights so although I am seeing my inches go down, the weight itself is coming off more slowly. I am using the Medifast 5&1 plan which I modify from time to time when I need to eat a little more real food. The main component for me is low carbs, keeping sugar levels even throughout the day (eating every 2-3 hours) and keeping overall calories in check. Medifast helps me do all those things for now but I can already see the day coming when I move away from having it be my entire focus. Its been 7 weeks and I'm a little bored and would like a few more options. But, it is working so I am keeping my eyes on the prize!

    Good luck!

  • I'm hoping to make it out of the 180's. For some reason every time I diet I get stuck around 185. The scale said 184 last week, but 185 this week again despite being perfectly on plan.
  • Hi Neko! Let's do this! Today, I cracked that pesky 185 barrier at 184.6. Hoping to put 185 in my rear view mirror forever!

    Sheila
  • 184.6 is great! I'm hoping to never see 185 again too.

Counting my carbs and trying not to weight too often. Maybe on Saturday morning, so hopefully I see some change.
  • So, I was able to see 184 yesterday but today back up a bit to 184.6 based on some heavier weights I used last night (and maybe in the spirit of full disclosure, that glass of red wine). The day after lifting day causes you to retain some water which helps in muscle repair and growth. I am trying to cognizant of the number on the scale not being the end all be all especially when lifting weights. Still, that doesn't stop me from craving the 179.9 number on the scale!

    Sheila
  • Yay! Hit the 183's yesterday which stayed the same today. I generally stay in the same range for 2 or 3 days then lose. Happy with my progress and those 170's are getting tantalizing close.

    Sheila
  • Big day. after 4 days in hanging around in the 183 range, I bounced down to the 182's! Those 170's feel so close yet so far. I could easily be in the the 180's for another 2 weeks. Here's to moving downward!

    Sheila
  • Congrats on the pound lost!
  • So, so close.... 180.6 today! This is the time when its likely I'll sit right at 180.6 for 4 or 5 days. But that's ok as long as I keep working it.
  • Keeping out of the 180's. Ugh
185.6 this morning. I have had a rough year, diagnosed with RA, started online BSN program, changed jobs, best friend died, and then husband changed his job. Again...tough year. Ugh. But it could always be worse, I'm a pretty lucky girl really. So I have struggled to get out of the 180's all year. I finally found my inner tough girl and pulled her back from the brink and got back on the diet last week. I lost 4lbs this week, which I know is a lot for one week. I'm trying to remember that I only allow myself to weigh once a week so Mondays it is for me. I'v added exercise on my elliptical and walks for now. After graduation in three months I plan to attend classes at the gym. I'm trying to be smart and go slow and be cool about it. I joined this group for additional support and feel like it's really helped keep me in line and on the straight and narrow. Lol. Glad I'm not alone in this journey and know you aren't either.
  • HeartRNchick, Things have been really tough for you! So sorry to hear it. Proud of you for getting tough with yourself and losing 4 lbs! It's the start of a really good year this time.

I have stalled for a few days at 180.2 despite doing all the right things. I know one of these morning, hopefully tomorrow, I'll wake up to that magic "7" number. Hang in there everyone!

    Stay the course!
