Figure out how many calories you're eating now and reduce what you're eating.

Move...start out with 10 steps..then 11...then 12....You don't have to go crazy just start somewhere and go up from there...

Good Luck

Yes a big part of losing weight and keeping it off is making it liveable.

So what are some other foods you like to eat?

You can lose weight healthily on whole nutritious foods.

Too many people do a crash diet and severely restrict their calories. They do it for a while then wind up binging.

Just watch the calorie intake.

I would check with your doctor. That plan sounds like it involves an unbelievable amount of sodium, which might be downright dangerous considering your health issues and possibly any medications you might be taking.

At one point I just accepted the fact that I was doomed to be fat forever and that I would never see age 50. I wasn't depressed, just basically accepted it and moved on.
Me too. Mostly thought about when I was sitting on the toilet.

But...

I would suggest taking on that which you fear most...eating foods that are good for you.

I guarantee there are some out there that you like, you just need to find them.

I would not even worry about restriction at your point. Just find the healthy foods you like and eat them to your heart's content. Forget calories.

Go for lean protein like broiled (or canned) fish, chicken or Turkey (not fried).

Eggs (anyway you like).

Raw vegetables (salad).

Oats.

Dried fruits.

Find the foods that are good for you and that you enjoy and eat a lot of them. The weight will drop right off.

As an example, I eat 1.5-2lbs of (canned) fish a day. You probably don't like fish, but find the healthy food you like and hit it.

Gumbeaux, I think you have some good information here.

However, I disagree with the people saying you should switch immediately to a whole foods diet. Unless that's something that excites you, I think it can wait.

Your top priority seems to be losing weight, and for that your hot dog diet will work just fine. I wouldn't worry about the content of your meals just yet - just about how much you're eating.

Do what you need to do for you. If that's a hot dog diet, do it. If down the line it's trying new foods, do it. Whatever works, seriously.

Take this a step at a time if that's what's needed. You can do this.
