  • Ok im starting over again today. I took a little break...female stuffs..gotta love it. Anyways i start again today with my 30 min of excercise. I am feeling really drained and very exhausted...unhappy as well. i cant wait til this passes.
  • I did it!! I'm through and into Block 2. Well, wait, I'm not starting yet. Will be back with thoughts on the . . . next challenge!!

Thanks people for all your help. I could NEVER have done it without you.

scoobysnacks, heh!! keep your chin up!! We're rooting for you. Just hang tight. This will pass and you'll be feeling OK. Be strong. You're beautiful! :
  • Congrats on making it to Block 2, Red Balloon!

I'm on Day 14 and feeling strong! Interesting that I caught myself close to a little self-sabotage yesterday when I was feeling reluctant to measure my portions and was tempted to play fast and loose with counting calories. My beady little mind is very tricky indeed--fascinating to watch though!
  • Day Seven...you're outta here!

Feeling good about doing WW Points again. I'm at 22 points, my minimum for the day, with 5 left to play with if I feel the need. Which I doubt I will. Very satisfied after dinner.

Red Balloon, Congrats on completing a block!!!

Scooby, fake it 'till you make it! Just keep trying! Hope you are in better spirits tomorrow.

Eydie, 2/3 of the way through! Keep truckin'!

Amarantha, how did the day go?
  • Hi!!

I'm still thinking of my next challenge. Don't want to start yet because I'm thinking of doing no sugar again along with something else but before that I think I want to have a couple of my favorite sweet things (soft ice cream cone ) and then go no sugar again.

I see a lot of you counting calories and I'm thinking this may be the best thing for me too. But I really really hate to count calories. Maybe Weight Watchers or something would be better. Can someone tell me where to find the program? Is there something online for free or do I have to join. Well, that would be a little hard from here.

**Eydie, good for you Day 14. Almost there. Yes, self-sabotage. I know the feeling. This is why I'm worried about trying to make calorie counting my next challenge. I think I concentrate on food more. Then again, if I concentrate on it while counting it won't matter. I'm doing something wrong because I have stayed around 70 kg for years now. : rolleyes: I really want to get down to at least 60.

**Wildfire, congrats to you too on a full week. You're doing WW points. Can you explain them to me?

**Amarantha, scoobysnacks, how are you?? Amarantha, did you give up the WBMLB or whatever you called them? If so, why, were they just too time-taking? You're also a calorie counter. How do you figure them when you eat out?

P.S. Does anyone know why when I look at the thread on my computer the smilies aren't moving?
  • redballoon, with the WW Points system, each food is given a point value based on fibre, fat, and calories. Based on your weight, you keep your daily food intake within a points range. For example, I fall in the weight range of 175 - 199 lbs, so my daily points range is 22 to 27 points. You must eat your minimum points each day, and have the option of going to your maximum points, depending on how hungry/what kind of foods you eat that day. A point is roughly 50 calories, but that depends on the fat & fibre of the particular food, too. Probably sounds complicated, but once you get the swing of it, it's really easy! You can sign up for WW online at the website, http://www.weightwatchers.com . I've attended meetings in the past, so I still have all my information and I'm doing it on my own. There is a WW Forum here, too, that you might want to browse for some information. Dotti's Weight Loss Zone has all kinds of information on food points and recipes, too. http://www.dwlz.com .
  • Yo!! I'm in super hurry mode, trying to do too many things at once and computer is fighting me!!!

Scooby, ol' scoobysnacks pal, don' feel like no Lone Ranger here, 'cause I'm restarting as well. No worries ... that's what makes the 21-day challenge FUN!!! It really is hard to get going!!! But we needed a few days off, right?

Sorry you're feeling unhappy ... sometimes I do, too, but THEN I think, well, I just REFUSE, I'm JUST SAYING NO TO UNHAPPY!!! UNHAPPY never got me anywhere ... I'm just telling UNHAPPY TO GET OUTTA MY HEAD!!! And anyone who tries to make me feel unhappy is on my short list ... and that includes ME!!! Seriously, I hope you feel better. Life does suck (can I use that word) and then we die ... but in the meantime, let's have fun and get thin! Whadda say? I will if you will! Pm me if you need someone to talk to! You are a great person, Scooby, and you deserve to feel ok.

Ok, I'm on DAY ONE of my 1750 calories per day or less challenge.

RED BALLOON!!!! and for completing your challenge ... have a banana!!! ... and another one !!! Great job and can't wait to see your next challenge parameters!!!

Yes, I tabled the GWLMBs for now, just addressing calories, as that to me is the central thing in weight loss. Will be more imaginative on my next block and I WILL GET THERE!!!

The smilies on my screen aren't moving either. Haven't been for a few days. Thought it was the privacy software thing again, but guess not!

to all who've advanced a day in their challenge!!!! Sorry if my personal responses are a little spotty here ... I'm a bit scattered right now ... must go to bank and gym and lots of place ... AVANTI!!!
  • You women are so nice! I just love this site. I tell all my friends about this site. You guys are welcome to my bday party...its going to be august 24 around boston. If your interested PM me.
I am feeling better....!!! did work out for a half an hour.
  • Hello,
Wondering if I could hop on. I really need some hard core motivation. My challenge is to eat between 1200 and 1500 calories a day. Not more and not less. I was so good about it a couple of months ago, but I find myself sliding and really need to get back up to speed. Plus it will be fun to see if I can actually get through 21 days without cheating and having to start over.

    So...day 1
  • I would like to join you!!!!
Hi All!!!! I would like to join yall in this endeavor....

My 21 day challenge will be to walk the neighborhood (1 1/2 miles) everyday!!!!

I used to do this twice a day with my wondermutts...... it is a challenging walks with lots of hills....

    Talk to you soon!
  • Welcome Zadie K and Angel!

My big accomplishment today was walking when I didn't want to. I seriously considered just blowing it off ----that old self-sabotage thing again. The Queen in me took over and before I knew it I'd walked 4 miles. I love it when that happens!!!

Anybody else have any victories to celebrate? I know you do!
  • Day 8...out you beast!

24.5 points and done for the day.

    Scooby, glad you're feeling better!

Zadie, welcome to the challenge! You too, Angel!

Eydie, good for you for getting out there!

Amarantha, how is our busiest Queen Bee?
  • Yo!!! Can't believe how full I am on so few calories ... think I forgot to count some. Have to go back out into the heat and drive to mountains to cover a meeting, will post back tonight.

Welcome and a YOWZA to our two newest 21-day recruits, Zadie and Angel!!!! We need all the challengers we can get to add to the pool of 21-day karma we're building up here!!! Yup, and if you wonder what we are gonna DO with all that karma ... I dunno, but it'll be GREAT!

Scooby, glad you're on the upswing again ... I'd love to come to your b'day party and will be there in spirit, if not in the flesh!!!

With our two new challengers, we've gotta bunch on Day One at the moment, so we can all keep each other company as we follow those who've gone before ... where no man has gone before ... beam me up, Scotty!

Skipped gym today ... still sore and achy and the yoga yesterday was enough ... not sure if I mentioned that but I went back to yoga class ... starting back with the personal trainer tomorrow, hoping to get motivated.

Red Balloon, WW online is cool, I did it for awhile, forgot to mention it, so glad Wildfire had all the info. I also had an "at home" kit with a little points calculator. The points system isn't exactly for me but it works well for tons of people. I like the WW mag, don't know if you can get it in Japan?

Eydie!!! on the 4-mile walk ... esp. when you thought you were gonna blow it off!!! IMO, those are the most enjoyable walks of all ... when you think you aren't gonna do 'em and then they just sneak up on you!

To all, mentioned and unmentioned, LET'S GO OUT THERE AND KICK SOME 21-DAY ... whatever!!! Yowza!!!
  • Hello all: I see we've got some newcomers. Welcome aboard, zadie k and Angel. This place'll get your butt moving. We kick it here! and you will too. Onward, up, five of us (I think) are all starting out again (me and Amarantha on second block).

Eydie, major kudos on the walking save. That's the spirit. You are moving!

Wildfire, nine is fine!! Then it's TEN! Tell us when!

Scooby, good to hear you're feeling better. I was feeling down myself. Let's do the bootstrap routine and slog on!!

    *************

OK, I splurged majorily yesterday on sugar. It was actually pretty gross and today I'm feeling the worse for it. Still, the pigging-out got it out of (though actually INTO) my system and I'm set for the next go-around.

My 1st block challenge was -- a successful 3-week stretch of -- no sugar, plus a daily 15 min. of jogging or cycling

My 2ND BLOCK CHALLENGE is going to be -- a TRIPLE WHAMMY!!

    These are the parameters
    1) NO SUGAR or sweetener whatsoever + 2) AT-HOME ROUTINE consisting of: arms/shoulder dumbbell 4 sets of 15 reps with 2 kg.-dumbbells in super sets of (db curls, robots, kickbacks, shoulder press, side lats); 4 sets of 20 reps of crunches; simple stretching routine + 3) DETAILED JOURNAL of food intake (not worried at this point about calorie limit, but must estimate calories and write everything down!) The journal part may sound easy but this for me is major because I always quit after two days and then start whining about why oh why I don't lose weight.

Okay, here I go!!! Off on DAY 1 (Wednesday, Aug. 13) !!
  • Yay, Red Balloon is aloft again and floating into BLOCK TWO, good for you!!! That's an ambitious plan, RB, but I know you're up to it!!! BTW, what are robots?

I'm back from mountains and ending eating day at 1725 and ON TO DAY TWO!!! Woo-hoo!!!
