Time For Serious Fun #16

TIME FOR SERIOUS FUN # 16

Welcome to Time for SERIOUS FUN…..We are a group of people trying to lose weight together and help each other along the way. There is only one rule on this thread, and it is if you are not willing to help yourself along the way or help others on this thread we don’t want to hear you WHINE everyday, we like to keep a positive attitude. Some whining is expected, lol, we are only human. Other than that we love to talk about every subject under the sun. Please feel free to pull up a chair and a keyboard and join us on our journey. Every day of the week we have a little beginning to the day to start us off, for example…..Monday would be Mission Monday……you have some sort of mission to complete in your life for that day or longer totally up to you. Faye is in charge of what day it is and what we are doing, so look for her post if you are interested.

Sorry girlies, I have done nothing but run since 6 am this morning and haven't had a second to post but we have our cable modem back up and running so I can use the computer in my office and relax and post to you all.

Sandy: Poor Evan, I wonder if there is a counselor he doesn't like. If he always loved it before, there is some authority figure that is bothering him, I would bet you! Can you talk to him by phone and find out what is bothering him or will he be home soon? I got violently ill every year I went to camp from homesickness except the last one in which my older sister was a counselor and I loved camp that year.

Sarah: YOU GET A: :bravo: for points! Great job! Am looking forward to hearing about your weight loss when it comes!

Carri: YOU GET A: :high: for points yesterday and terrific job staying OP btw!

Missy: YOU GET A: ? as you never said whether you got any points but didn't say you didn't either. Ok, the mother in me is going to open my big mouth again. This big jerk has given you the ammunition you need to DUMP him! Tell him it is just not going to work out because you need someone that supports what you are trying to do and he doesn't seem to be able to.

Shauna: It is so nice to hear about you. I didn't see whether or not you had any children? Wonderful job of getting those lbs off too!

Amanda: YOU GET A: :high: for points yesterday. I AM SO PROUD OF YOU! YOU ARE GOING TO DO THIS AND PRETTY SOON YOU WILL HAVE INCORPORATED ALL THREE THINGS INTO YOUR LIFE!

Pam: YOU AS USUAL GET A: :bravo: Ok, ok, so I am a drill sergeant, but a nice one anyway! I try to coat my "drilling" with artificial sweetner! Oh, I like Scarlett O'Hara as the ultimate strong southern woman. She possessed everything a southern woman is, sass, independence, fragility, strength, a little deceitfulness, beauty, and charm.

Tonya:YOU GET A: :cp: for points! Yeah for you! How are those sweet children of yours?

Julie:YOU GET A: :high: for your points and your girls get:grouphug: :cookie: from everybody for doing such a great job with their projects (did you say what they actually did?)

Debbie:YOU GET A: :high: for your points. Keep up the good work. I am one of those noodly women who can watch I LOVE LUCY over and over and over so that what I would probably do. I have the dialogue down I have watched them so much. My dh groans when I turn it on! But I like her movies too with Desi Arnaz like The Long Long Trailer and darn I can't think of the other one where James Mason is her guardian angel and Desi is some kind of scientist.

WHEW! I got all the points given out now so I can blab. Ladies, be sweet and kind of tell a little about yourself to Shauna when you post next so she can get to know us without going back and looking to see who has kids, what you do for a job, etc.

I am so bummed. I had to pay nearly a $100 for 3 months worth of flea and tick meds for my dog and cat. I think that is ridiculous as it is about an 1/8 of a tsp of liquid that goes on their skin every month.

Ok, for the majority of you, you probably have never ever had this problem, but us more svelt ladies, anybody ever have a time of it trying to paint your toenails? I just started doing it as I could not reach over my fat before, but I am lefthanded and my right foot looks like a drunk linebacker painted them! I got them pretty well fixed up, but thank goodness no one gets down on their hands and knees and looks close!

Shauna, I will be 50 in Sept., I have been married nearly 31 years, I have a grown son, Jack who is 30 and single, and a daughter Kelly who is 26, married, and has my only grandson, Thomas who I will talk about constantly so be prepared! I am not working right now, but have been trying to find a job and go back to work. We live in Memphis and my dh is retired Navy (retired in 1989). We have lived all over the country, but I grew up in Northwest Indiana and my dh is from New Mexico. You can see my stats at the bottom and I have kind of roller coastered since May but am working on trying to get back up to speed again.

Well, I guess this is enough of a post. I am going to copy it so in case I lose it I don't have to do this over!

See you in the morning with your lbs down!

Faye:)

FRIDAY: Today is Fabulous Lbs. down Friday. How are you doing? Share with us your loss or SCREAM for some help!

I GET A: :bravo: for points yesterday even having a half piece of Hershey Chocolate cake at Applebees, but then my day was soooo screwed up yesterday that I never got to eat anything until 1:30 and had a bean burrito and a diet pepsi from TB and we went out to dinner and my food was expensive, cold and disgusting so I ate mainly the spanish rice out of it. Dh took me down 3 doors to Applebees and we got dessert so dessert was kind of dinner. UGH! BUTTTTTTT, I drank water at dinner and dessert so got my water in and came home and was hungry but didn't eat! I am down 3 lbs from last week.

Again, I will be busy because I have the stinker all day today, but will check in as I can keep him busy for a few with something else.

Oh, since we all get to brag on our kids, I got an e-mail from "the hunk" and he just took his test for his brown belt in his martial arts and passed so his last belt will be his black and he has been doing this less than a year. He is such a sweety and cracks me up. He is 30 and sends me this picture of him and his sensai and another important guy and another guy that earned his belt and ds has this fierce look on his face like he is some ninja killer or something! He said to earn your brown belt in this type of martial arts, you have to pass 14 different types of attacks including weapons attacks and said the catch is you have to stand perfectly still while they attack until they are upon you to strike. He said, "Boy, it is sure hard to stand still knowing you are going to have someone attack you."

Well, guys have to go and get dressed to take dh to work today.

Faye :)

Pam: Just a hint here~~~ to fix your post when you see something wrong after it it posted, down at the bottom of your post it says edit.....hit that and it will take you back to fix it. Didn't know if you knew that or not? Good luck with it. Hope you got caught up on sleep.

I will be gone all day.....I have to work this a.m and then leave early to go get my baby at camp!!!! I sure do miss him and I hope in the end he had a good time. I am gonna take him out to supper and stuff after I pick him up, just me and him for the afternoon.;) He needs some mommy time....gotta get this in before he wants nothing to do with me...hahaha pre-teen stuff.

Love ya,
Sandy

Mornin' Ladies--

Well, yesterday was a weird day.........Mom and I did some power shopping with the kids. It was supposed to be a quick trip to Walmart, but we ended up getting haircuts for everyone, and going to the book store, and going out to eat (not so great for the diet, but not terrible either). I'm a professional seamstress, when I'm not dancing, and she wanted some new clothes for school (she's an art teacher at a boarding school in Virginia). So, we went to the fabric store and I had so much fun helping her pick out some really nice fabrics and patterns. She's heavy, so it's difficult for her to find really classy clothing in her size. She used to be a fashion model before she got married (back in the 60's), so she has incredible taste in clothes! It was so nice to see her get excited about looking good again. I've always wanted to sew for her, but she always just brushed the idea aside. "Oh, I don't really need any new clothes. It's ok honey, I'm fine with my old stuff........GRRRRR) I can't wait to get these finished!

So, I got 0 pts for OP yesterday since we went out to eat for lunch. I had a shrimp ceasar salad, but loads of tortilla chips and salsa before hand. At least I didn't cave for the *Fried* cheesecake! For crying out loud, this is MAINE>>>you don't FRY CHEESECAKE!!! I did get all my water in (brought some shopping with me) and I think 6 hours of shopping with 3 kids counts as exercise

AND I finally weighed myself this morning, and I'm right around 241. So I lost about 2 pounds last week, which is just right! The best part is, I FEEL thinner, I Feel in control of myself, and I'm happy!

Faye: Congrats on the 3pnds! You're gonna make your birthday goal, I just know it!!

Shauna: I'm 35, married to the man of my dreams, have 2 girls and a boy (9,8,& 4), we live in Maine. I'm a stay-at-home mom, seamstress, and bellydance teacher. I think that about covers it.

Enjoy your Friday, everyone! Keep rackin' up those points.

Julie

TGIF!!!!

Good morning All -

Okay, so I got on the scale this morning and I have lost 2 of the 4 pounds that I gained that whole week and two days that I was totally off program ( with my back ), so I am feeling pretty good about that but still kind of down on myself for gaining it back in the first place, oh well :jig: :strong: I have got back on the wagon now...:)

Shauna aka CG - I am a 29 year old gal, married to my high school sweetheart since I was 20...we have no kids, just dont want any at this stage in life, am working on me right now...I live in Indiana, always have....My SW was 246, I am now down to 226
and my GW would be about 130-135ish, right now 160 would be a God send...but ya know how it goes...by the by I did not end up going to Quiznos, opted for turkey at Boston Market, but what low fat sub would you recommend? I am picky....:smug:

Missy - Ozz Fest is like an all day festival with like 10-12 bands, so he goes to see all of them but also Ozzy is still great in concert, oddly enough when he talks you cannot understand him but he still sings perfectly.....dump #2 .... figuratively (sp?)
speaking...:joker:

Faye - congrats on the three down, man you are kickin butt lately huh, and even with the chocolate pie huh? I am going out with my sister tonight to TGI Fridays and am totally afraid that I am going to blow it...recommend anything light there that still tastes good?

Everybody else, have a great day, talk to you all later...

Carri

gma22 08-01-2003 09:18 AM

Hey! My dgs is making a birthday card for his daddy so I have a couple minutes.

Pam: YOU GET A: :bravo: for points yesterday! That is great! You have probably already lost the challenge weight!

Julie: YOU GET A: :grouphug: just for trying yesterday.

Carri: I have no clue about TGIF's as my passion there is their hot bites and they are deep fried jalapenos. Order one of their steaks and eat half of it. That wouldn't be bad for you and get salad no dressing and take your own and a baked pot with butter on the side and add a little or take your own. BTW,
:cb: :bravo: :hat: :cp: for your 2 lbs loss!

Below is your illustrious leader as of this morning. As you can see, she carries most of her weight in her big as the Brits say, "ars."

Check in later.

Faye:)

Honeyrose29 08-01-2003 09:26 AM

Morning everyone!

I got 2 pts for OP, 1 for exercise and 1 for water yesterday.

Shauna: I am a 32 yr old married mom of 5. 4 boys and a girl ranging in age from 13 to 3. I live in Western Ohio. I began gaining weight after my last 3 pregnancies which were close together. My highest weight ever was 232 and my starting non preg weight was 178. I am currently bouncing between 148-152 no matter what I do!

Faye: go get yourself a pedicure lady! You really deserve it for all the hard work you have done. Not only that but its so great to get your feet and ankles massaged, soaked, painted and pampered for an hour!

Down the lbs.. well I didnt! I didnt go up or down.. I stayed the same. I wont complain.. I may quietly pout a lil though. :bb:

Everyone has been so active and I dont have much time. Congrats to everyone on their points!
I need to get my jog/walk in and get to the bank/grocery before there is nothing left to buy. (1 grocery store within 20 miles.. they sell out fast on the weekend!)

I'll do personal replies later! Sorry!! :grouphug:

gma22 08-01-2003 10:38 AM

Debbie: YOU GET A: :high: for points yesterday. You know, I was talking with the lady at the nail salon yesterday and telling her I had never had a pedicure. She told me I absolutely must start doing it. The place I have my nails done has massaging chairs!

I better not mess around too much as my dgs is downstairs watching a movie until we go get granddad for lunch.

Faye;)

mugirl213 08-01-2003 10:50 AM

OK points points...for Wednesday I get 4 Faye and yesterday I get 2. I totally blew it with dinner and then movie snacks with my mom and my #1. We had a great time!

But now for the happy news! I am down to 150! The scale was a little funky this morning as I started by sliding the bar over to 150 (as I usually do) and then it was still all the way down. I did a little dance (in my underware in the gym) to celebrate starting with the 100 bar...now granted I am just a smidge under 150, but Hey, doesn't matter. So I am down 2lbs. this week.

I also talked to my friend Leslie this morning and she is PSYCHED. (She's the one I told u about Faye)...she is down 13 POUND FOR JULY!!!! I am SO proud of her!!! She just got a new internship at the hospital and she is walking like mad, drinking water like a pro and making awesome eating choices! She said she even cut her fat in-take LESS THAN HALF! So a big shout out to my friend. I told her to stop by as we will keep her motivated here...so hopefully she'll take my advice! :)

Ok i'm out for now...going to go change my signature to reflect my loss! WHOO HOO!

TonyaS 08-01-2003 11:45 AM

Hi ladies! man it is hard to keep up lately ..

I get points for water and food yesterday, I have PMS in full force , and last night I just wanted to put on comfy clothes and sit on my butt, so I did! =)

I have also changed my goal... I am to the conclusion that my body frame just won't allow poundage that low, without starving, and I can't handle that.

So, I am just going to try for some inches, or even just get my flabby areas toned. Kempy from the other thread I post on said she thinks I should do the weight thing. So I am going to look into that. So my goal is to get a size smaller in jeans, which I can do, but I am not satisfied with the way they look, my stomach bulges out the top :p So anyhow, 1-2 inches, and fit better in that smaller size :) My new goal ;)

I hope you all have a wonderful day, I feel like a terd lately, I never have time to do personal replies.. this thread is so active! :D

Faye, my kids are great, they are keeping me very busy as usual! hehe
