I am sure that the easy part starts now and that there is a bright thin future in front or you ;) Honestly, CONGRATS!!! |
I have been away at our river place for the last four days and have not been able to weigh except on my ancient analog scale. The travel scale is a joke! Wasted money. I get on it and it doesn't come on at all, now. So, this morning, I weighed and I am up to 158.2. Ate mostly on plan, had a few meals out. I guess the salt is still hanging around. There were a couple of days I only had 2 meals and did not over-do it on the second meal. But on one day, after lunch, I sort of splurged on more unsalted dry roasted peanuts than I should have because I felt hungry and they tasted so good and my calories for that day were 1600. I stayed away from the peanuts the rest of the time I was there.
Congrats chel! It has definately been a long road for you, but I admire your determination. You are an inspiration to me and to others, too, I bet! MM12 - I have to be careful when I do any kind of movement. I got on my recumbent bike when I got it last month and it made my ankle painful for a week (felt like it was starting to tear, again). I have been kind of scared to get back on it. I tried walking the next week and adding in some low impact aerobic exercise (15 minute video) and my left knee, that sounds like velcro when I take the stairs, started getting sore to stand and walk on. I will try the bike later, again, but I will try not to cycle as fast as I did and maybe cut down the time 15 mins to 10 mins. I did do a slow warm up, but did not help that ankle. Still waiting for the knee to calm down. Feels as tho someone has stretched a really tight rubber band up the inside if my shin to the inside back of my knee. 2kids - sounds like you are on the same rollercoaster ride as me. Down then up, then down, down, up! lol |
Wow Chel - that's great!!! Happy to see people moving down to the next decade. It keeps me motivated, knowing it can be done!!
Awww thank you all so much!! You all have been my favorite group of people so far!

Please can I join at 150 pounds I'm the heaviest I've been and feeling annoyed i haven't had more willpower!
Sure you can, DeterminedChick! Sending you :dust:!
Welcome, DeterminedChick!
155.5 lbs today - down 0.5 lbs from last time, which is a surprise considering I had two helpings of lasagna one night and 2 pieces of pizza for lunch one day. |
And 156.5 lbs today. Sigh.
Looks like I am around 156 on my old analog scale here at the river. Won't be until Wednesday until I can get on my digital scale at home.
Yay, this morning the digital scale showed 155.4!
When is one officially in a "plateau"? I'm not loving my 1 lb/month weight loss rate... I definitely don't feel deprived of foods though, so maybe I should just roll with it or eliminate more.
2kids - I have had times when the scale bounced up and down or didn't move down at all. I sort of researched what a plateau meant and what I found on most sites stated it lasted a month or more. So, I re-evaluated what I was eating and eliminated fruits and grains from my diet until the scale started moving in the right direction. I was trying to get out of the 160's at the time because I had been there for 3 months. I think it took about a week to see some progress. Then I added back in a fruit and later the grains.
Today's weigh-in was 155.6. I have less than 1 lb to reach my next mini-goal. Yesterday was DH's birthday and my 1 year anniversary eating on the South Beach plan. We went out to dinner and I had saved up to have a nice piece of cheesecake to celebrate and it was delicious! |
Off-track eating the last 3 days. Not terrible, but I feel like messing up even once will set me back a week. Time to re-focus.
Just putting a marker in here. I barely belong because I weighed in at 159, but TOM is around the corner, which means pounds packing back on soon, but I am hoping that the scale will keep going down eventually. The 150s are my last "decade" of being in an overweight BMI, so I will really have something to celebrate when I graduate to the 140s! Good luck to everyone!
