I have tried the jordan juice diet a few times and absolutely love it. It is where you replace two meals a day with a green juice and it was the health boost that it gave me.
Plus I lost half a stone in a week which always helps
Interested to read, though, that there is the assumption that anyone on this board is seeking "permission" to conduct their own affairs -- lots of projection here and perhaps ego getting in the way of a simple request for input. You see it on Boards such as these often -- self-identified experts make pronouncements and then project their own need for recognition and validation of their particular methods onto others. You see it all the time, and I've been on and off this Board for years. Interested to see that not much has changed and I'm probably better off elsewhere.
In all fairness, aren't you kind of doing the same thing? I guess people thought that since you're asking you wanted opinions. Some of us feel it's not a good method for the long run, you say it is. That's great that it worked for you, it definitely wouldn't work for everyone. I think your heart has been set on juicing from the get-go and when some balked at the idea you became upset.
Like I said from the beginning whatever works for you. I certainly support all methods except diet pills.
I'm wondering how the reception to this would be different if I said simply that and eliminated the "juice" part.

...I wonder if an open mind might reap rewards in the future in all areas?
The responses to this proposition are more revealing than the question itself I think.

It doesn't sound like you really wanted input. It sounds like you were conducting social experiment to see if people would voice objections and were proven right by some measure. What have our responses "revealed" to you? There are a lot of people on this forum with different mindsets and can coexist but it feels like you're patronizing us.
Misspixie, the responses you're getting probably have a lot to do with how you're presenting yourself. Tone is not easily read over the internet, as I'm sure you know. The words you're using suggest that you're looking down on the rest of these boards, or, as Wannabeskinny said, using them as a social experiment. You spoke of having an open mind, but then seemed to want to push one diet as the one-size-fits-all for everyone.. then started talking down to people (that is at least how the posts came off) when they didn't agree with your approach. Just seems to be a bit hypocritical to call everyone else self-proclaimed experts, and act as if they judged you personally, when you seem to be doing just that.
It does look like you made the original post to seek validation. I've done stuff like that with video games. I'll decide I'm going to purchase a game that maybe got bad reviews.. so I'll start asking friends for opinions and whether they'd get it. I don't do it intentionally, and my boyfriend and I sort of laugh cause he can tell when it's happening. It's part of convincing myself that it's okay to spend money on. I think we all do it to some extent. It usually has less to do with actually caring (or getting permission) what someone's opinion is, and more to do with wanting people to tell you that you're right. Your post seems to do this because the first post in it makes it sound as if the diet is something you're considering, but you hadn't made up your mind and were looking for honest opinions.. yet later we found out you've done it before, and you'd already started and all that. So the misleading nature of your original post, combined with your reaction to people who disagreed, is what gives off that air.
It's awesome that you've lost weight and managed to keep it off. If you don't need this board, that is fine. Everyone needs different things on their journeys, including different diets. I've found the support on this board to be amazing and helpful, but you do need to treat other posters with respect/courtesy. When you ask for opinions on something, be prepared to hear the harsh truth, or for some people to disagree with you.
Not trying to be mean, or judge you, just trying to explain why your posts come off the way they do, which has a lot to do with the responses you garnered.
Well, my mom had a pretty good diet before she started juicing, but once she went on a juice cleanse, she had a total turn around. Her energy was amazing and prior to juicing she was taking all kinds of supplements to have energy. She lost 30 lbs, she was just a lot more vibrant and she used to be so sluggish. She still has a juice "meal" but she's incorporated other food. She plateaued for a while, but she's back to losing and she hasn't had one of those huge binge-fest they warn about.
I would do it, but I don't think I have the willpower yet. Good Luck, just make sure you find a way to get some protein if you're going for over a week.
