Default Stuck

So I'm stuck at 180...varying between 178-182. I can't seem to get out of this range right now.
I know what this means for me.
My body is probably used to my routine by now.
So, I was wondering what everyone else is doing to lose weight. Trying to get different ideas on nutrition and exercise.
What's working for YOU right now???

The most unpleasant thing is to stuck!!;-(((( Change a bit your menu (try to track your calories, maybe you can eat less? or simply change products), do more cardio, speed up your metabolism and WAIT;-) you will start to lose weight again! just don't lose hope!

I'm stuck too.

I always get stuck at the 160-163 range. I saw 160 six weeks ago and gain some pounds back to be at 163 today. I can't seem to break the 160 lbs number! I literally hit 160.0.... not an ounce lower.

I'll be reading this thread, but my plan right now is to stick to my diet (paleo-like) and be regular on my exercise, drink a ton of water, and see if that works. Eat less, of course, and see if in the month of August I can't break the number.

When I was stuck I remember every month and a half totally changing what I was doing. Month One: Calorie counting. Month Two and a Half: Low Carbing. Month Four: More, different exercise.... you get the idea.

2 things really work for me when stuck:
#1 is binge for a day - it will shake your body up and it will keep moving.
#2 I do 24 hour fast once a week. This also a great tool to keep moving I would recommend this one over binging though

Hard to say, since I don't know what you're currently doing. Instead of one binge day, I would recommend having one meal a week where you eat an extra 300 healthy calories. Then, don't weight in for about 3 or 4 days. This will usually help me drop some weight if I'm stuck. Another method would be HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training).
Dropping calories in general is probably the most helpful, but if you're already eating very low, then this is not advisable, of course. If you're having 1500 calories a day, you can drop it to 1200 and you will probably see some results in a few weeks.
Hang in there! You're doing great! If you know that you're doing all the right things, maybe you should put the scale away for a few weeks. Just focus on what needs to be done and eventually, the results will follow. Getting stuck is very common.

I was stuck. I was also going through a lot of changes in my living situation, so die was not a real pressing commitment. I think for about 3 years the weight just hopped around within 10 pounds of my highest weight.

I had been a vegetarian for many years off and on, so I decided to go back to vegetarianism. After watching "Forks Over Knives" a few times, In addition to meat, fowel, fish and "critters", I decided to remove oil, fat, cheese, dairy, and most eggs within reason, as well as sugar, and all factory made/ highly processed foods from my diet.

I'm here to say that within a month, it is working. I eat enough and do not feel deprived. There was something of an adjustment stage due to raising the amount of fiber in my diet.

Any way it works, I am pleased with it. I am hoping that I experience no stalls, and hope by this time next year I will have a flat tummy, and wear a smaller size. Fingers crossed.

For me - adding a workout. I usually do hiit but adding in a few straight cardio workouts usually does the trick. Or working out in the evening vs the morning.

Try a high carb day followed by three no-carb days. Or no starch after lunch.

Lots of water, clean up your diet if necessary, and be patient

Fat loss is always an equation of energy.

Weight loss stalled? If you are in a caloric deficit than you're just retaining water.

The end.

Thanks everyone for your input. I don't think I should reduce my caloric intake seeing as how I'm already at 1200 calories a day.
But a few of you suggested changing WHAT I eat. I think I'll try this. Maybe my body is so used to the same foods that its not giving me enough of other vitamins I need.
Also someone suggested changing my workout schedule...that's a little hard because of my work schedule but I'm going to try this, too.
Thank you everyone!
And good luck to the rest of you that are stuck. Hopefully you got some helpful tips from this thread.
I'll check in again soon to let you know if anything worked!

Have you thought about increasing your caloric intake? This is only from reading Jillian Michaels, but I think sometimes your body can go into starvation mode after a while and just stores fat. Maybe trying upping your calories for a week and see if it works? As long as you're still eating healthy stuff... I'm currently on 1700 a day and it's working for me, it's also sustainable.

I didn't think of that, kitkat. That makes sense. Maybe I'll try that. Thank you.

Start203, how long have you been stuck? Since you're already having only 1200 calories a day, plus working out, you could definitely shake things up with your diet. I recommend just having one meal where you eat some more (healthy) calories. Maybe have that salad with some olive oil and vinegar, or have some more nuts or avocado. I would have maybe an extra 500 calories just for that one meal or day and then see what happens about 3 or 4 days after when you cut back down to 1200.

Best of luck to you!

None of those things have anything to do with water retention. Nice people give terrible advice because they don't know ant better. You may do a headstand tomorrow and the following day lose 3 lbs because your body had a woosh but you will start advising people to do head stands.

This topic appears at least twice a week and has had the same wrong answers for years. Muscle confusion! Diet confusion! Have a cheat day! Worship the sun gods!
