Not looking forward to this weekend's weigh-in: it's TOM and I am retaining at least a pound of water right now. Can I skip this week? ;)

unwanted37lbs 07-11-2014 09:02 AM

Good news #1, I bought new pair of jeans - the size smaller :) It feels great! going to wear them so everyone can see!

Good news #2, I am ready (i am sure i am ready) to move on to week #3 of training to 5K. It will be a bit more running and a bit less walking this time compared to what i have been doing. My trick is that I do this with my favorite music on the background. It helps me a lot to not think about stuff like "OMG i cant do it!" lol With music i feel like i can do it and more :) So today I will start new level :) YEY!

Another reason to celebrate for sure. YOu can totally do this! =)

unwanted37lbs - Great to hear about the jeans. I swear, those are always the hardest thing to shop for.

Weigh-Day. Down to 153.9. Sweet! =3 I wasn't sure. My TOM is just around the corner so I was crossing my fingers the scale hadn't gone up yet. :p Awesome!

Suds14 07-13-2014 08:14 PM

me too! me too! can I jump in here?! I am in need of some accountability and the push to take off these last few pesky pounds. I'll input my data with a weigh in tomorrow.

Cheyenneb4u 07-13-2014 11:33 PM

Yes of course!!! Everyone is welcome to jump in at anytime!! =)

jollyjude 07-14-2014 10:46 AM

Posted my weight today - down to 179.6:carrot: YES, that second number actually is a 7!!

underanalysis 07-14-2014 11:35 AM

TOM ended just in time :) Down to 142.4 as of this morning

Cheyenneb4u 07-14-2014 02:05 PM

It's sooo disappointing to not show a loss. I'm logging out to exercise!

unwanted37lbs 07-15-2014 02:01 PM

i am exercising my tail off to be in 179 at least... to see that 7 in the middle at the end of this month. I did 5 miles today (walk/run mix). Come on 7!

you are also my height - what size jeans do you wear? I am just wondering because I would love to be 142 like you - one day :)

CanadianMomma 07-15-2014 02:49 PM

I hate buying jeans, I just bought myself a 14 so that I didn't have to keep looking at my size 12 (pre-pregnancy) and wondering if I should squeeze my butt into them. Since I discovered the joy of dresses when I was pregnant that's almost all I wear in the summer now.

I spent the weekend visiting my Mum and Sister, managed to be down a lb for this weight in. Slow and steady! I'm still hoping now that TOM is done I'll get a bit of a drop from that this week (just because I'm greedy).

Congrats on hitting the 170s jollyjude!

Cheyenne, it is disappointing not to see a lose, remember your body goes through strange patterns when it comes to weight loss, it might not be anything you are/aren't doing.

Right now I'm mostly wearing 8's, and some 6's. I've gotten down to 130 before and than I was in all 6's, although of course it depends on brands and cuts sometimes too.

I carry more fat around my hips and thighs than my torso, so in dresses I can wear a 6, sometimes a 4 if they're "fit and flare" and meant to fit my torso but be looser on the hips.

LilDazed 07-15-2014 04:37 PM

I haven't bought jeans in a long time actually. I really need jean shorts though because it is really humid over here. I've been surviving in dresses thus far. =/ Gaaah.

jollyjude 07-15-2014 06:12 PM

Unwanted 37lbs - I am in a size 14 jeans (could probably squeeze into a 12). I am pear shaped so need the room in the hips, but they are too big in the waist.

I am down 1.6 lbs. today to 178.0:D - Had a root canal in a back tooth yesterday, and my mouth was a bit too sore to eat much.

FatCat123 07-15-2014 10:05 PM

Hi guys I'm FatCat123! Just joined the community and posted on the spreadsheet! I already feel like it's helping! I need all the support! Thanks to all of you!!! Much luv :)

Cheyenneb4u 07-18-2014 04:59 PM

A small hiccup on the journey is just a reminder that everything we do matters! And that is how I feel about yesterday =)

Sum38 07-19-2014 09:24 AM

I am down nearly 5 pounds since I started my "Operation Finland" two weeks ago  I slacked off what came to exercise, but I am back at it! I have to exercise to lose pounds. Diet alone makes me lose wayyy slow. Or I have to starve myself, which I refuse to do.

CanadianMomma I LOVE dresses. I wear them almost every day and my closet is bursting with them. I actually have one closet just for the dresses. Dresses hide my flaws (tummy) and display my strengths (legs). Throw in some cool heels and one looks FAB! I also wear lots of big hats. One of the moms from baseball asked me if I am always "so put together", that I dress better to a baseball game than she dresses for dinner. I think the dresses just make you look "dressy", but many don't know that it is all about comfort. I am far more comfortable in a dress that in shorts. I carry my weigh in my belly area and I find shorts uncomfortable, now my belly hangs freely and I look great at the same time  A win-win!

GOOD JOB on your 5lbs! I am on the same boat as you - excersize is what gives me that boost of weight loss. Even though diet is everything. :) I remind myself to get on that treadmill every single day even if its just 2 miles. Small things matter :)

Diet is for sure everything.. but I like how you view exercise!! I'm contemplating getting a gym membership! I don't have a treadmill and I find that even when I intend on exercising at home.. I find other things to do... dishes, homework, housework, playing with kids!!! When I have a place to go and do it with a specific purpose.. I'm much better! Okay.. today my goal is to take a tour of the two gyms that are local to me! =)
:ebike: :strong: :exercise: :tread:

same here. I do have a treadmill and i tell myself if i go take a shower for the day then might as well go sweaty into the shower from cardio on treadmill :)

unwanted37lbs 07-21-2014 04:11 PM

i am 2 lbs away from seeing that "7" in the middle... :) my goal to enter into August with that 7 :)

Cheyenneb4u 07-21-2014 06:54 PM

That "7" in the middle is a good target!!! I feel horrible that 10 months ago I was at 171... and then my step dad died... so I was practically living with my mom and spending every evening with her so she wasn't alone!!! AGAIN.. the second time she's been widowed.. It brought up a LOT of memories of when my dad died.. and I gained 13 lbs. I HATE that I allowed emotions to justify dropping my guard, losing my focus. Every time I step on the scale I compare my number to that 171 that I was so proud of... and every time I feel like a failure. It's hard to find motivation when even with a pound, or 2 pound success.. I still view it at a fail. I got to figure out a way to see my successes as successes.. I also need to find a way to stop panicking about 13 lbs... panic doesn't promote weight loss, it just makes me frantic in the mean time. Anyways.. I feel better just saying that.. Makes me feel ownership of it somehow!! lol

Cheyenneb4u 07-21-2014 06:58 PM

And.. On a happy note!! =) I just love scrolling down the spreadsheet and seeing everyone's success!!!

I feel like a snail :p but at least the number has been moving!

ioslainn 07-22-2014 12:09 PM

Hi there, can I join in if I've got my numbers from the past four weeks?

cheddahcat 07-22-2014 02:49 PM

Thanks for the spreadsheet. Added mine today!

Cheyenneb4u 07-22-2014 08:03 PM

So I went ahead and got a gym membership.. I'm totally excited to have a physical goal that isn't JUST related to a number!!! Woot Woot

Absolutely you can join in!

unwanted37lbs 07-23-2014 04:20 PM

I did 7 miles of cardio today (walking/jogging)!!!!! Took a shower and now laying in bed under full blowing fan and choose not to move! Lol

garnetrising 07-23-2014 07:09 PM

Oh wow. And I feel proud of myself when I do 3.5 miles. You're inspiring but I fully support your decision to take time relax under a fan. I've also added my info to the spreadsheet. I think it's a fun way to keep track of peoples numbers!

3.5 miles is awesome as well!! You should be very proud!!

CanadianMomma 07-24-2014 09:21 AM

Argh, I'm at the same as I was last week- 165. At least it's not up I suppose haha.

I love exercising. I just can't find the time for it right now. Or maybe it's more the mental energy. My days are just soooo busy before even trying to add in some exercise. Or maybe I'm just making excuses.

Even though the scale isn't showing progress my clothes are fitting a bit better. I think I'm finally getting my ab muscles back into some kind of shape now that the baby is almost 1.

Here's hoping for a loss for next week.

jollyjude 07-24-2014 01:02 PM

Hi all,

Unwanted37lbs & garnetrising - I am inspired by the miles you have done. I have been just relying on diet to lose, but am going to try to get some more exercise of some kind in every day to start toning up.

You rock it!!! =) Way to get moving to see the progress!! I only JUST added exercise back into my routine! I'm so stoked! In addition with my healthy eating, exercise just has to give me that losing edge I need!

Suds14 07-28-2014 09:35 AM

unwanted37, what are you doing to get those HUGE loses?? very impressive and I'm betting a lot of hard work and dedication! What dies your eating look like?

Cheyenneb4u 07-28-2014 10:17 AM

So my weight went UP... I hate that.. Does it make a difference that I started lifting weights last week!!! My body is sooo sore! In a good way. I'm going to start keeping a journal of my weight lifting.. and my food intake as well. Congrats to those you have keeping up the hard work!

luckymommy 07-28-2014 11:34 AM

Cheyenneb4u, weight lifting can definitely make you retain water. It's still not fun to see the scale go up though, so I feel for you! Just hang in there...maybe take some measurements because you're probably losing inches. Weight lifting is awesome for fat loss and the scale is not a dependable indicator in the short term. Hang in there!
