Hey guys!
Okay so I've been calorie counting and exercising for about two weeks now and I've lost 6 pounds. I'm worried that this loss is just water weight instead of actual fat. Is there a way I can tell? Also isn't it true that losing more than 2 pounds a week is bad?
I started at 246 and am 240 now. My calorie intake is 1200- to 1400 and my goal is 120 pounds (I'm 4'11)

Sure, some of it will be water, but that's normal. Part of it is fat loss, too. It's normal to lose a little more when you start out because part of it is water. Also, most women lose more per week when they are at their highest weight and it tapers off as you get closer to goal. I think you are off to a great start
