That happens sometimes when it isn't even weight related. A friend of mine got a new hair cut and got contact lenses. A guy in our group asked to be introduced to our new friend. He was amazed when he found it it was someone he had known for years.

Sometimes when you lose weight, the people who see you day to day don't notice, it but someone who hasn't seen your for months will see it right away.

This happens to me almost everyday and I'm still not used to it.

I lost the bulk of my weight last fall and winter so when spring came around and I traded the heavy coats and sweaters for cute summer dress and shorts people were truly shocked.

When I go out I get carded even though I'm in my mid-30's so when I pull out my license I get extra scrutinized since I also look much younger now than in the photo.

I've had people I have known for years look at me and walk right past me on the street only to turn around and say you look so familiar. LOL! It's so mind boggling to me, but when I look at before and after pics I get it.

That happened to me once way back when I was 19 and had lost my first significant amount of weight. While I was at the grocery store I ran into one of the girls I used to sit with at the high school lunch table, so I called her out by name to say hi. She glanced me up and down, gave me a really dirty look, and said with a snarky tone, "Sorry, but I don't know you."

It was all kinds of awesome.

I LOVE all these stories!

I remember looking at before/after pics of people who had lost weight and was always surprised at how they seemed to become a different person. I wondered, "It that really going to happen?" The answer? Yep, it does happen and it's fabulous.

To those who haven't experienced it yet, your day is coming!
