I've been there, both as a meat eater and as a vegetarian (someone else paid when I went after I became vegetarian). The thing to remember is just pace yourself, have some salad and when I went as a meat eater, my husband went with me so we split meats because otherwise it is too crazy. If you have someone who is willing to share rather than you having to eat your own portion, that is probably best.
