Confused?

  • I had been walking 60-110 minutes every day and doing very light weights (lifting ten lb weights for my arms) and doing some pilates and general calisthenics.

Now, even though my diet hasn't changed and I'm still 1200-1300 a day, I feel exhausted. All I want to do is sleep and when I walk even 30 minutes every muscle in my body hurts.

Is this mental? Am I just projecting a loss of willpower? Or do I need to do something else?
  • How long have you felt the exhaustion?

Could it be related to your cycle?
  • I take loseasonique, so my cycle is once every 3 months, and I haven't actually had one since I started the pill.

And I've felt exhausted for maybe a week? Maybe it's the holidays coming up? Lack of sleep with laying some flooring in the house and dealing with the cleanup after that.

I don't know, but I literally have to force myself to get out of bed before noon and then it's a struggle to make myself walk or..move.
  • Are you eating extra on the days you exercise? As in, eating back any of your exercise calories?

If you eat only 1200 calories a day but burn 1000 exercising, you need to eat more to keep your body going. It doesn't have enough fuel.
  • I always eat back my calories. I actually eat all day when I'm exercising. It's like this hit me like a bus. I just feel exhausted and..off?

If you are laying flooring you are doing more activity, plus the clean up, again more activity. Lack of sleep alone could be it! Not to mention stress. A combo of those things easily explain it!

If it were me I'd maybe add an extra little snack in, make sure I'm getting all the nutrients I need and if not take some vitamins. Drinks some extra water. That type of thing.

Chances are it'll pass. Be nice to yourself though, and listen to your body!
  • You're right. I'm taking the day off. Sawdust and hardwood can just lay there. I'm putting in my Black Keys playlist and dancing my heart out, then walking. Then I'm napping. And after that, I'm making myself a big ol bison sirloin with spinach and brown rice. I've been having dreams about rice and yellow potatoes..time to curb that craving.
  • I know you said you've started taking loseasonique, but is there any chance you might be pregnant? When I was in my first trimester my only noticable symptom was extreme fatigue.
  • i noticed considerable more fatigue after the daylight savings time change....also could be related to more darkness?? just some ideas

I hope not!! I don't think so though. I think I've just been overwhelmed with renovations to the house, stress with in-laws over the holidays and just general not sleeping well.

I'm hoping this will pass once I take a day to myself to recharge my batteries.
  • I actually woke up today with a horrible cold. So, that's what it was!
