Hubby offering support?

  • My hubby asked how much more weight I had to lose. He said I should be getting close to goal now shouldn't I. Then he flat out asked how much I weighed! We talked for a minute and I asked if he really wanted to know, yes he did. I told how high my weight had gotten, how much I have lost and how much more I had to go. He said he thought I was almost to goal and that he needed to give me more encouragement and support since I still had a ways to go (typing that out makes it sound like he was mean, but he wasn't at all). I told him he should have been giving me support and encouragement whether I had 2 pounds to lose or 200, but that I would be thrilled if he could be more supportive.
Then he looked at me in my workout clothes I was like don't look I know they are really snug (I wear capris and a very snug tank top), he told me that they were snug but that is really showed where I had lost weight and that they looked fine. He said he was proud of me for working so hard.
I don't know what to think. My hubby really doesn't say much about my weight. His policy is fat? What fat? I don't see no fat on you. Oh look at that bright light over there, why don't we talk about that instead. LOL.
I am not sure what happened to make him notice or why he suddenly decided to open a conversation about my weight. I am just surprised he did. I am happy he is going to be more supportive but I know if he doesn't I can and will be able to do this on my own.
  • That's great he's trying to show an interest in something that is obviously important to you. And offering compliments, to boot. Very sweet of him
  • I second what Artic Mama says!
  • Yeh... sounds like you got yourself a good guy.
  • My husband was the same way and still is kinda. I think he thinks if he says certain things it will backfire on him and make it seem like he was calling the old me fat... the old me was fat! lol. The other day he randomly picked me up and carried me around the house! This for real melted my heart... he has never been able to do that before I guess.
Sounds like you have a great hubby! Glad he is being so supportive!
