My hub and I are not sweets eaters, and since most of the family is trying to be healthier, we rarely bake anymore.
Don't get me wrong, the smell of great baked stuff is great, but we don't eat it very well. One serving and the rest, goes to waste.
We are the group that says, toss me a steak! And top it off with a baked tater, and drown the green beans in cheese.
The one thing that is sweet, that I will save the calories for is my Greek aunt's home made baclava! You can buy it in the store, but the home made stuff! OMG! It's worth saving the calories and taking a pre baclava walk!
When I want my house to smell like I've been baking, I put on a pan of water and add cinnamon and ginger and cloves and simmer. You get the aroma without the food sitting around.
