Default Help! Idk where to start :((((

Hello everyone....
Im new here and in quite a bit of a rut... Recently I have realized that I am not fitting in to my clothes anymore... After losing my job nearly 10 months ago, obviously I have packed on pounds... Now I do not know where to start. My diet, however, is relatively healthy ((lots of veggies, H2o, not much fast food or sodas etc)). Where my problem lies is my motivation and knowing what to do... I have a son and DO NOT want to be unable to run and play with him.. I am also VERY VERY busty for my size ((36DDD)) and find it hard to find correct fitting sports bras ((suggestions would be soooo appreciated)). Which really sucks because I used to love running ((( please help! Thank you ))

Weight loss is about a calorie deficit. MANY ways to go about that. Diet, exercise, diet AND exercise, etc. So whichever way you eventually choose, you should start with the math. To make it super easy, find an on-line calorie calculator to figure out how many calories it takes for your body to maintain the weight it is now. Plug in the information (age, gender, weight, height, activity level...) & it will do the math for you. It should tell you how many calories it takes to maintain the weight you are currently at; how many calories for weight loss.

Yes, there's more to it - the weight didn't come on overnight, it won't come off overnight. But ^^THAT^^ is where you START.

You are here! - that's a good start, too. Come here often! Lots of tips, good advice, and great support here.

Bra: The Freya Active. I'm a 36F and this is the best bra. http://bit.ly/KmYn8P Get fitted, you are probably not a 36DDD (that's more like a 36F, but stores like to pretend the alphabet stops at D.)

Where to start: I use Sparkpeople.com, which is free and keeps track of my calories and exercise. Healthy food is good, but its still possible to be eating more of it than your body needs and gain weight (which is what I did.)

Just start slow, and remember this is a marathon not a sprint.

Welcome! You're going to get great advice here.

I agree that weightloss is about calorie deficit. Take the emotion out of it. Settle in for the long haul. Losing weight isn't about how you feel, its about what you do. Learn. Come here. Read. Post. Share your journey.

One day at a time, with the rest of us!

Best wishes!

I agree with the others about calorie deficit. I like myfitnesspal. com for tracking calories.

I also found that discipline is much more important than motivation. There are days when I have no motivation to keep going but I just make myself eat my veggies and fish and avoid the pizza because its what I am supposed to do. Motivation is just an emotion, and discipline is our brain's choice to do what is consistent with our goals. There are days that's tough. On those days, I will eat my healthy meal and then go and throw myself into a project of some kind until that bad urge/lack of motivation/"eff it" feeling passes.

Re sport's bras.

Check out this thread. A whole bunch of us re-measured our chests and found we were wearing the wrong sized bras. I used to be wearing 38DDs and now I'm wearing 36GGs and feeling SO much better. I got a new sports bra too, from Freya Active. It's great! Enell is also a good brand, and Title Nine has some great stuff also.
