I was ordering at Denny's the other day and asked for the Fit Slam. The waitress seriously asked me like five times if I wanted fries instead of the fruit, as if she was concerned I didn't know what I was getting myself into. Had she asked me just once I might have just found it odd and brushed it off, but repeating herself several times when I made it clear that yes, I wanted the fruit, and then overhearing her argue with the next table over what a healthy choice supposedly was (and being completely wrong about it), I spoke to the manager upon leaving. Her job is to take orders, not inflict her issues with food upon her customers.

Good for you! That is ridiculous for her to do! I don't care if you wanted bacon cheese covered fries topped with sour cream and 1,000,000 calorie fry juice. It's your body. The restaurant serves it. And dang it, you can order it. For her to make such a fuss over fruit is ridiculous. I'm a waitress and NEVER argue with customers over what they are getting. It's just ridiculous and makes HER job harder on her. Just get what the people want, no questions asked.
I know I went to IHOP one time with my mom on Black Friday and we ordered normal dishes, but we were hungry from getting up early and shopping and walking so much. We both finished our plates. The waitress said "wow you girls must have been reallllllllllllly hungry". -_- Comments like that are bad for tips. I know that waitress learned her lesson that day.

Overweight people are very insecure about their bodies, and perhaps this was some sort of self-irony meant to create an illusion of confidence "I'm so comfortable with my own appearance that I don't mind making jokes about people who are overweight". Some people are just like that, you should just ignore them, just as you'd ignore any other rude remark.

I am sure you are right. I have always known this particular girl to be very hypocritical, but she's a friend of one of my best friends, so we are forced together sometimes... -la sigh-
When I take another look at it, I think it's sad. Because she probably considers herself a "fat b****"... :/

I think if the facebook post was directed at a certain person, then it is horrible. However, if the post is just a generalization, then the poster is allowed to feel that way and say those things. Just like others are allowed to feel hurt by it or feel that that the poster said was wrong.

We judge alcoholics, drug addicts, those with crazy obsessions/addictions (My Crazy Addiction on TLC for example), hoarders, people with 20 cats. We will all make jokes about them because we don't have that issue that they have. However, if someone makes fun of weight issues, we get offended since we feel we have weight issues. Its very hypocritical of us and I find myself eating my own words sometimes. We will never be accepting of every single issue, nor will we always be accepted for our personal issues and we need to understand that. Unless the attack is personally at you "Hey, Katrina your fat" for example, I can't get angry over people making fun of fat people in general.

I really agree with all of what you just said. That's why I just needed to rant over something that really grated at me. I think it was the fat b****** part. I think using that term to describe women grates on me in general. Personally, I just try to imagine the people in those situations though. If I made a comment like "I think it's so funny when recovering alcoholic b***** try an act like they dont want a drink when you offer them one" I would find it just as offensive, and I'm not an alcoholic. But you're right we all poke fun at people at different times and get offended when it can relate to us. I just think we should take this and try to be a little bit more compassionate.

Yeah, the fat ***** part is what takes the post from being acceptable, to being down right degrading. People are allowed their own opinions, but they should portray them in somewhat of a decent fashion. If you add fat ***** to anything it pretty much destroys the whole sentence.
