Also, saying that europeans have a smaller bone structure than americans and are banana shaped is totally false...

That Ralph Lauren is usually a more extreme example though, they had a news story about that. They PS but not to that degree-mostly just smooth out bones/pores, and maybe its to make up for the adds 10 lbs deal LOL. Idk, I see those runway models in whole foods all the time, karlie kloss catroina balfe ana beatriz barros, etc they look pretty much the same size as in photos.

I hate how photoshop let us think that we can be as tiny and narrow without having bones protubering everywhere, which is not the case for most of us.

Or that we can be fat but super curvy and without any cellulite.

Here are some 2011-12 Ralph Lauren ads, they lessened the degree of size photoshop since 09. I wonder if it was to get bad press in the first place-and get attention in that way lol since hte PS wasn't even good, and they prob hire best of the best.

I think we can't base how we feel on photos. It's good to have this discussion and acknowledge that its not a reality for most of us. Models are probably lucky genetically that they look good at that size. Honestly I think I would have looked similarily if I hadn't gotten ridiculously huge thinking back when I was a teen and a size 14 I looked pretty darn good. I was 5'10" then I'm way heavier and taller now (a size 22 to 24) Even my HS grad photos where I was 6' and an 18 I don't look that bad. It sounds crazy but if I could fit into 18's the 18's I wore back then in the 90's... I'd be utterly happy with my appearance. Any weight loss after that is just about heart health. (Again I think I may just be happy to get out of the obese categoy and be 'overweight'. Sad but i'm an honest person and thats really how I feel right now).

This is exactly how I feel. I want to keep my curves and I want bodacious hips and I want to look like the average plus size model; to me they are more sexy than the straight-size runway models! If that means I'm in the "overweight" category, than so be it! I'll know I'll be happy with myself, and really that's most important to me right now.
